WoW this is a 60k car while not cheap most,90% of cars on the road are not aliened as well. for what you are asking for pricing would be 150k the time it takes adjusting and swapping of panels and door to get that perfect alignment over 5000 plus cars. My wife's entire family worked for GM on the assembly line. What you are asking for is a hand-built coach not a mass-produced car. take it to a quality shop and pay the extra money to have it fitted. You said its barley in spec which means that its IN SPEC.

Do you even read? It's not "barley in spec", it's 7 times out of spec.

FYI GM has a horrible reputation on making good panel gaps.

Just wait until you put it on the alignment rack

Spoken like a true engineer.
Yeah I'm aware the alignment is also terrible on Supras. do plan to have a check before bringing it to track.

First thing noticed, driver side door does not align with the rear quarter panel. BMW spec it as +1.3mm to -0.3 mm, where + means door bump out and - means quarter panel bump out. I don't have the Supra special version of ISTA so the spec was from BMW Z4. This is barely within the +1.3mm.

This is your very first statement in this post. In spec So why say anything about it? Your second statement is "perfect" for the other side. Then you refer to the hood gap. was it gaped when you bought it? or did you do something to cause this problem? and yes, most US cars allow 3mm to 5.5 mm ( .120-.220 inch ) for alignment. I'm fully retired so I can do this with you all day long and hell even kind of enjoy it. Bottom line your bitching about what appears to most on here to be minor shit. I'm sure some find this horrendous and unacceptable But for me ya seem more like Kearen which yes you are allowed to be! I truly hope you find peace over this because what this seems like its doing to you wow, I would shrivel up and die. Yes this is an assumption just Rember I never said I wasn't an ass! You posted looking for some kind of response and you got several. Heck ya even posted the answer. With the knowledge that the dealer didn't care about this miss alignment what is it that you are looking for? Us to be outraged that the dealer doesn't care and demand that Toyota/BMW do something about it or we will boycott their product? Oh well I'm goanna go take a nap. Be safe and have fun!

Great that you do admit you can't read for more than a couple lines. That's not an issue at all.

As a gm employee, i wholeheartedly agree with this. If you wanna go the extra step, never look at gm paint up close.

My service advisor for BMW worked for GM and I already heard too much stories. I really feel it to be the common issue for all US auto manufactures. They make great cars, but you just can't look closely to these nonfunctional details.

Agreed. Call it comfy, call it sloppy, call it what you will. At the end of the day the average consumer will never notice flaws in the paint or panel gaps. My truck is littered with dirt nibs, and i bought it clean off the truck. My wife's Acadia rear applique looks like one it was painted by one of those guys in the videos where they're painting with a spray gun attached to a car tire for air pressure.

Don’t take delivery of the vehicle and wait for the next one. This is probably a one off issue or during transport/assembly line there was an accident and yours got “repaired”. Salvaged but not salvaged ???

Ever look at a new Ferrari up close?

You’ll forget it all once you drive her on track. That’ll fix most of your problems ?
