I know there are several exhaust threads out there...but here's a specific question: for my 2024 MT, I'm looking for an exhaust that is big on weight savings, however isn't too loud. The primary purpose is Autocross (hence the weight savings), which means I need to be careful with noise as some events won't let obnoxiously loud cars run. What are people seeing out there that would focus on those two criteria?

Also, I'd like to keep the dual outlet if possible...but that's not a deal breaker. Don't care about the valves, but I don't want any lights on the dash complaining about the valves missing.

Thanks! Mike

For weight distribution, a thought.

Keep your stock muffler, and have a titanium mid section made for it that works with the stock muffler.

I'm thinking about doing this with some nicer tips mainly because the stock exhaust doesn't restrict at all and it's not a bad idea to keep some weight in the rear low end of the car.

Sard Ti-Z comes in at 11.6kg (stock is 25kg). It's full Titanium, dual tip and keeps the valve and meets JASMA requirements which means it's not much louder than stock.

It's pricy though

Following!

Thanks for posting - this was on my mind too. Would love to cut weight but not have it be annoying. To be honest the OEM exhaust with valve open and catless is already pretty loud.

I'm not sure on exact weight, but based on the fact that it's a single mid pipe and has relatively small mufflers, I'd guess the Injen exhaust might be worth looking at. I've heard it in person and it's not very loud. Definitely quieter than my AWE resonated touring.

Thanks everyone. One other consideration - it needs to be cutback. I can't mess with the cat or anything upstream and remain in Street class. That Injen setup has me intrigued.

Akrapovic is the way to go. Otherwise, we can order SARD titanium from japan.

I know you said you prefer the dual outlet but figured I’d respond anyway. I have a top speed pro 1 exhaust on my 24 MT and it’s been pretty great. Single exit titanium to the passenger side with an interesting turn down tip. Little different than the other stuff out there. V-band between the sections, band clamp at the downpipe and exhaust tip. It comes in a few colors, I picked the purple one because why not. Great build quality and finish, was easy to clock it in for clearance and it doesn’t hit the chassis brace under the car. No cutting involved. It’s not very loud… videos I’ve seen of me at the track taken from off track where you can’t hear me but you can hear the car in front or behind me. It only weighs like 18 or 19 lbs I’m pretty sure, enough that I definitely noticed the difference on track. I’ve also heard that SP1-R only weighs like 13 lbs or something bananas like that.

If weight savings is main concern, why not just go lightweight battery?
Our stock battery is a fucking pig, and I want to say a lightweight battery can shed close to 50lbs?
Agree. I didn’t realize until I took it out what a massive heavy sucker it is!

To me the exhaust should be for sound. Some cars, it can make a difference in performance. I just don’t see it doing so for this car. Our stock one is not that restrictive. If you aren’t looking for a particular exhaust note ?, what’s the point?

Side note if you’re a you’re a track junkie, you will burn up the cat eventually. So that was one of the 1st things I did, went catless.
