Update: Upon getting the brake recall fix, the exterior mirror memory feature and passenger exterior mirror dip upon reverse feature both work now.

I recently picked up a used 2020 Supra. I'm trying to sort out the memory seat function that is supposed to also save the exterior mirror positions and HUD position.

I only have one driver profile set up (reset all the others), and the car only came with one key fob, so I'm ruling out anything related to multiple profiles/fobs.

All I'd like to do is have one seat position/mirror position/hud position saved to "1" on the seat memory buttons, and another seat position/mirror position/hud position saved to "2".

Following the steps in the owner's manual, it appears that I'm performing the correct actions; however, only the seat position is being saved and recalled. The exterior mirror positions just stay put (haven't tested the HUD yet, but the side mirror positions are a higher priority for me).

The car does appear to have some bimmercode changes, and the recall software update has not been performed yet. I tried searching BMW forums, but I'm not seeing this issue replicated anywhere.

Any ideas?

This is strange, they should be stored as you correctly pointed out.
I haven't seen anything in the bimmercode that indicates that this could be coded to inactive (don't shoot me if it's there and I missed it) don't see why you would want do disable this anyway
I'm assuming that the mirrors move and can be adjusted, right?
I would think this would be possible warranty issue if you still have coverage on the car

Yes, mirrors can be adjusted with no issues. It is under warranty, however, the one time I've stepped foot in the Toyota dealership (to attempt to get the brake recall done) was not the greatest experience. :(

I's the mirror selector switch on the drivers side or the passenger side?
It is switched to the driver side to keep the passenger reverse mirror tilt activated.

Also, I checked this afternoon, and the HUD position does indeed work with the seat memory buttons, so it appears that of the three items that should be saved with those buttons, only the mirror position is the one not being saved.

Sorry buddy but I think you need to go back to Toyota with this?
Ask around and try to find a better dealer than the one you tried last time.?

Update: The passenger mirror tilt upon reverse is not working (tested on multiple drives today - it was working when I picked it up a month ago). Not sure when it stopped working, but I’d guess that it’s related.

Going to have a different dealer take a look (and do the brake recall, if possible).

What does bimmercode read for the mirror tilt adjustment?

Not sure - I assume the car has some coding done (auto start/stop disabled or setting persistent, max screen brightness, fake engine noise disabled, etc.), but it came that way when I picked it up a month ago. I don't have a supported OBD dongle yet to read the bimmercode changes myself.

I'll update this thread once I see what the dealer says (and/or I get a dongle and load up bimmercode).

Are you pushing the seat memory buttons while the car is stopped and in park? I noticed that the mirror memory will not work if the car is in motion.

Thanks for the tip. I’ve tried both. Pressing them while parked results in the seat and HUD moving all the way to the desired position and the mirrors doing nothing.

Pressing them while driving results in having to hold the button until the seat and HUD reach their final position. Again, the mirrors do nothing.

It’s odd because I know for a fact the reverse tilt worked at some time in the past month. I haven’t changed or touched anything, and I just recently tried to save seat/mirror positions to memory because I was waiting on the brake recall fix (not sure what was going to be overwritten/reset). That fell through, so I figured I’d test out this feature and found that two features aren’t working.

IIRC, the seat memory settings weren’t wiped after my recall session, but the coding i had for 1) start stop memory and 2) for comfort plus driving mode were lost. The memory short cut buttons were also wiped. So you will prob see all the prior BimmerCode changes reverted on collection.
