another stupid ? why can i dl bmw iDrive updates, install via thumb drive. If we had the firmware update file we should be able to update it ourselves. not trying to piss on anyone parade but it would appear you don't need someone to remote session into your box to update idrive via odbii bus. maybe I'm thinking to simply but paying for what should be free updates seems kinda jacked.

I previously had someone activate carplay on my head unit ECU and its now locked and not accessible via bimmercode. Is the firmware update still going to be able to be programmed?

Yes, we can still program headunit even though it's not accessible via bimmercode.

USB update is just a multimedia update for bluetooth connectivity etc. We're doing full firmware upgrade for iDrive. Feel free to ask for discount codes
