Hello I live in California where we have 91 octane. I have an intake, exhaust, catless and JB4. Can I run an E30 blend without a flex fuel kit and if so what map do I need to use with JB4 before I can get a custom tune

Just order the custom tune from Jesse at 1fast supra.com it’ll be him sending you stuff and you putting it into the Jb4 you’ll be doing that in map 6 the custom tuning one just make sure when you order the tune you choose the e blend tune and whatever other mods you have

Start with map 4, then go to map 5, make sure you datalog both maps and send them to BMS

For the best performance, I too recommend Jesse for a custom map

I’d spring for a flex fuel kit. An ethanol sensor like the fuel it kit works, but you’re well on your way to the Cost of flex fuel. Unless you never plan to go for more power.
having the sensor is nice for peace of mind knowing that you got the blend right. You don’t want to be too far out of the 30-35 range with the tune jesse does. The fuel system also can’t keep up with higher E content.
i looked at it as spend A little money now to make sure I’m not spending a lot on something that broke later.

The gains from a mix without tuning really aren’t worth the hassle. Just my 2 cents.

? yes sorry I misread the post above mine. Getting old sucks! Haha

I agree on the fuel economy tho. A couple years ago I was filling up on E85 for less than half of premium. Now it’s only about a $1 less per gallon so E85 isn’t as optimal from a cost standpoint as before. I was on straight E85 tho a mix may not be as bad from a cost standpoint. I more than doubled my whp but it took my 400 miles to a tank and turned it into 175 on a mild driving tank.

Is there one you recommend? I'm still getting the feel for mine on track and under 1k miles. Not ready yet, but that does sound more appealing/straightforward. Also, wonder if that would help the car run cooler on track with a tune?

If you want one that can expand to connect via CAN into your ECU at some point, I recommend the PRT kit.

It's basically a zeitronix setup with some fittings that make for an easy install. Just need a display if not using the ECU integration yet. Zeitronix sells a display for $140.
