Meh, calls go to favour Max and RB, conspiracy theory FIA favour Max and RB. Calls go to favour Lando and McLaren, theory the FIA favour them.

The real issue will always be consistency. Some luck or lack there of happen every race weekend and this is no different.

You’re right. I suppose it was just luck of the draw and timing.

Speaking of consistency, did you watch the press conference after the Brazilian race? I’m so glad Max gave the British press a shout out. The they come out in droves to cover their drivers. Not so much after this one.

Max Verstappen: “I have a quick question here. I mean, I appreciate all of you being here, but I don't see any British press. They had to run to the airport? Or they don't know where the press conference is?”

Such a fun press conference to watch. Everyone wasn’t on Max attack mode. The two Alpine drivers were fantastic as well. Both talked about how they trained so hard and long against each other at such a young age, in the freezing cold and rain. Like literally waiting for this race & moment. It seems all their differences are now behind them. Or maybe they were just hamming it up to the press. But it was wonderful to hear. I heard someone ask if they (Alpine) set the cars up for (expecting) rain. Both drivers laughing and answering emphatically no.

Take away the fastest car advantage (via rain) and you’re left with quite a talent disparity. Hopefully this will motivate those Red Bull engineers to work even harder & give that RB some well needed papaya juice.

This race alone shows why Max deserves the title. Winning from 17th or higher has only happened 5 times in F1 history. Over 1100 races! This was a drive that will be remembered forever. Like Schumacher in 96 in Spain, Senna at Donnington, and so on.

And for Norris to say it was "luck" is frankly disgusting. He has the best car, pole, a 16 place advantage, goes off track on his own multiple times, drives away on a stopped track without punishment, he got EVERY advantage handed to him in the sprint, qualy and race, and STILL couldn't beat Max.
I'm really disappointed with his comments.
I was already leaning to Oscar, but this cements it.

And for Norris to say it was "luck" is frankly disgusting. He has the best car, pole, a 16 place advantage, goes off track on his own multiple times, drives away on a stopped track without punishment, he got EVERY advantage handed to him in the sprint, qualy and race, and STILL couldn't beat Max.

Lando threw away his best chance at closing the title race, no doubt, especially with Max's brilliant drive. Yeah, sure. Make excuses for him. He literally said that it wasn't talent. Max passed everyone in the rain, no DRS, nothing. He got 3 spots from the guys that pitted. The other 14 he did on track. The same 14 had the same "luck" he did with the red flag. Maybe if Norris wasn't crying for new tires, McLaren would've left him out too. Norris asked for tires, got them. So in the end it was his bad call.

I don't hate anyone. But Lando has made multiple off color comments this season. Only to crawl back later. Austria-Great Britain for example.
Either way, it doesn't matter. Max has stamped his authority back on the sport. And that's what matters. And he called out the British press in a 3D chess move from the Gods ?

I'm pretty certain if Lando doesn't win the WDC this year he probably never will.

I'm not sure this sort of weekend can definitively mean that Max can win any race with this style of driving. It's quite a unique weekend with where he started, the weather, and how the race unfolded.

As far as Lando, it could be his best chance to win this season, but I'm hopeful it won't be. Would be nice if next season there was more than just two drivers in the running by the halfway mark of the season.

I think Lando needs the winter to sort out whatever thing he's got in his head and clean up his mistakes if he wants to contend next year.

Lando needs to get it out of his head that he is the best driver on the grid. If you can barely outpace your teammate in his second year in F1, you are certainly no where near Max's level.

We like to hate on Checo, but it is the constant reminder that the RB car is definitely not on the same level as McLaren or Ferrari right now. It is all Max.

As fans we’ve been treated to 2 epic drives 2races in a row. Max’s 17 to 1st in the rain and Lewis’s 10th to 2nd in the dry are more than us fans can ask for. People can knock Vegas but 2 years in a row it produced fantastic racing.

That was something! Max was on fire today. Immediately nullified the ridiculous penalty from yesterday, has the insight to see a car not lifting behind him at 180mph. Norris was absolutely at fault there. Hamilton having a disastrous day to the point of wanting to quit. AD could be spicy between Ferrari and McLaren. P2 in the driver's championship and the title in the constructors championship are well within reach.

Not a bad race but WTF with no SC/VSC with debris just off the racing line. Where they just going to leave the yellow there rest of the race? Driver of the day for sure was Zhou. Scored as many points today as Perez has last 5 races. Also see that Ocon is out and Jack is in for the Abu Dhabi race with Alpine.

Stayed up later than I’d like watching it and some of the post interview. Wow was it worth it! In hindsight, they probably shouldn’t have screwed with Max’s 1st place quali. Really gave him the ammo needed to fight on. But it definitely was a forecast of what was to come. Holy penalties!!!! They should have cleaned up the debris sooner. And poor Lewis, just gutted!!! Happy for Zhou ? At least he has something now to show for all his efforts in F1.

Also, where has Max’s sister been all this time? Guess his DNA ? isn’t that flawed after all, lol. Funny watching that mechanic work his way into talking to her post race. He’s better off talking to Max 1st ?
