Tonight was the first time that I drove my brand new 24th Anniversary. I was telling my wife that guys on this forum had been talking about people saying, "Hey, is that a Supra?". She asked, "Is that a thing?"

I assured her it is a thing.

The first place we stopped was the Dairy Queen drive through for a shake. And I'm not kidding, a dude in his early twenties came to the window, who was not working the window, and said, "Hey, is that a Supie?". He said supie, not supra.

I said yeah, and his asked if he could take a picture of it. So, he came out with his phone and snapped some pics and he was totally grinning. It made us feel good, making him smile. He was totally into it.

I get "IS THAT A SUPRA?!", "Oh, it's an automatic", "Nice BMW", blah blah blah. Like mentioned above: it gets old LOL.

I have a couple other cars that get a lot of attention and people ask to take pictures, sit in them, etc. I ALWAYS say yes... but they are nothing like the typical Supra fan. The import scene definitely has a certain... "crowd" that can fun and annoying. Not as bad as Mustang guys, though

I usually get "Is that YOUR Supra?" from people, usually in parking lots.

Just last week I was dropping off some Amazon returns at the UPS store and the kid at the counter asked "Is that your Supra?" How he saw the car in the parking lot from his position at the desk inside the store is beyond me, but I told him yup. He then gave me two free stamps to mail some Christmas cards because "I had a cool car".

Yup, by the most ill-informed idiots ever. Sorry kids, but I'm not interested in a stupidly overpriced, one-trick pony dinosaur of a car for $100k. There's a hundred better vehicles to consider at that price point.

At the Woodward Dream Cruise last year, tons of people were asking me to rev it. Most everyone enjoyed when I did even though I have stock exhaust, except for one guy who drove up in a Silverado and he said "hey new Supra! Can you rev it?" I said no at first but he asked again, so I revved for him and he just said "eh, heard better".

I was like "you're the one who asked to hear a stock car rev..."

Yesterday, at work, a guy that I used to think was relatively intelligent, asked me, "Is that a miata?"

I said, "No."

He says, "Oh, so they just put a miata front end on it."

I replied, "It's not a Mazda. It's a Toyota Supra."

He says, "Oh, ok."
