Supra twin turbo ?

The teacher is such a terrible liar. If you're gonna lie out of your ass at least think of something before you go on air and start stammering. Sad that he didn't just own up to it though. The club and students have to bear the negative attention because he didn't want to do things with integrity. Really took away their accomplishments to cover his own ass.

Dude shouldn’t be renting out his Supra to pay his monthly car payment. His own damn fault…. If you can’t afford the car, you shouldn’t be buying one. That’s like half the people that own an a90. Messaging me and haggling me over $50 for a part for sale..

This can apply to more than just cars/car parts. A lot of people need this harsh reality spelled out for them.

Exactly what I have said before on this forum and the goofy facebook forums. Supra owners are two worlds: 1) folks with disposable income and this is a toy/hobby 2) folks who really shouldn't have been approved for a loan in the first place.

Eh, teacher is a scumbag, and well I rent from turo and I think you should respect the rules put in place, you can not expect people to drive it like a Camry, but track use is pretty clearly not allowed. Feel bad for the owner but I just one of the risks you take renting a car out, and taking it to court won't be worth the hassle or cost, hopefully turo has some recourse but guess we'll see. I find the IG photo funny, "Supra GR Twin Turbo lol" it is like that old thread in the forum where some guy said he is building or built a twin turbo b58 lol

What's frustrating in this case is that it is probably difficult to prove damages aside from worn tires (and only if the owner has records or photos of the tire condition before the trip). It's unlikely the owner has records for the amount left on the brakes pads/rotors, and it's probably difficult to prove any engine damage.

I'm not a lawyer, but Turo will likely accept that the teacher violated the terms of service by racing it, but they can only go after him for the damages with proof (new tires and an oil change?) and then ban him from the platform. And yeah, what a terrible liar and role model for kids. Going on TV only made it worse for himself and the school/kids.

Even if they could prove it... $4k for tires and brakes? From 4 1/2 mile passes... yeaahhh... nope.

True! Plus, did anyone catch him saying that the wheels/tires weren't stock like he had a set of TEs or BBS on it....those are black OEM wheels :). Assuming between the old cloth seats in whatever car he is interviewing from and his [seemingly] lacking knowledge of sports cars that he's a Turo slum lord. Unfortunately too many Turo hosts want to have their cake and to eat it too. No one will take care of your car like you would.

It's not stock to that color though unless it was a launch edition. So he knew it was his car from the vids because those would have been put on after.

Let's not act like those are uncommon and his car is some unicorn...were you the only one on the internet missing Toyota GIVING those wheels away aftermarket for like $400 a set this winter? That plus everyone on the facebook groups trying to subsidize their new part purchases by selling the OEM stuff lol.
