From my experience a catless DP and turn down pipe sounds insane!! But your ears will be ringing if you plan on driving more then 3 hours...lol

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? You pretty much have all the info you need now to make it loud, what’s the end game?

Yeah.. appreciate all the responses. I'll start looking into the options mentioned. I basically just want the car to be a good deal louder without a) spending thousands of dollars and b) making it a police magnet.

Looks like a loud; legal; cheap. Choose two situation. Ugh.

Indeed.

For b, you'll want an exhaust that retains the valve and also has a meaningful difference between the quiet side and loud side. A lot of Supra exhausts (including the OEM one, bizzarely) really don't have that much difference with the valve.

I'm a big fan of my aFe Takeda with their resonator delete so far. It gets nice and quiet with the valve closed.

A lot of what you're hearing is through the speakers. Disable that, and the exhaust note is almost inaudible inside.
Not talking about the inside cabin.

The outside. But to each their own. For me it's enough, for now.

I'm considering a Kenji Garage DP and the Dinan system.

I just don't like the Dinan tips but I can fix that.

Should be the best combo of sound vs. livability.

Exactly. The difference is so marginal it is making me think I might just do the fuse pull trick with the stock exhaust - I already start in Sports mode via coding and we'll see how bad the drone is on the freeway.

Interesting. Is it much louder with the valve open?

Not sure. Once its warm it gets a little louder in Sports mode, but its still very tame. Not sure why such a loud looking car sounds like a Camry.

I have that shit coded out and as much as I would consider coding it back in to make it sound reasonable.. nah.

You need to concern yourself with QUALITY of sound, not QUANTITY. It's not a Civic. That said, I put an AWE Resonated Touring catback on mine, and that woke it right up. Great sound, and when you're not it, you can still have a normal conversation. If you want a little louder, get the non-resonated or without the mufflers, think it's called the track version.

Is it comparable to the video I just posted?

I found this video of the AFE exhaust with decibel meter readings included. Louder with the valves open, but maybe not a ton more than stock.
