Are the Costco Tire Centers safe to install aftermarket wheels and tire? Does anyone have experience with them? I have a new Costco that just opened near me and their prices are great.

Just talk to them and ask how comfortable they are doing the job. Costco in general is a great company! They’re not on commission and they only hire the best (pay their employees a lot more $$$) in general. They’ve got no reason not to be honest with you.

Even better, you end up finding a place/person that loves the car as much as you do. You’ll be surprised when you start talking to people. It’s easier to find them than you might think. They work on cars all day. The opportunity to work on a Supra is definitely a lot more enticing than the usual grocery getters they are used to.

As with anywhere it depends on how much the installer cares and how skilled they are. If your wheel are really nice, you should call around and find a shop that has a touchless machine.
Completely agree. Even TireRack started sucking when they started installing at non-SouthBend locations.. I received a brand new wheel set with mount marks. This was at the peak of faktarded DEI..

There is a DiscountTire (A,merica's Tire) store I trust and while it's across town, I go there all the time to get my tires mounted, patched, etc. GL with your tire swap OP!

I wonder how good mobile installers are.. not that I'm willing to pay double the price when I can just drop off my loose wheels at Discount Tire.

Bro, are you really parroting that DEI is the reason your wheels are messed up from tire mounting?

I've had plenty of wheels and stuff messed up in my life from average white males. Trust me, DEI didn't hurt your wheels.

Ditto on the Discount Tire thing. Had them patch plenty of tires, put on my Pilot Sport 4S, and a set of new rims. The local store has always done a great job and has always provided excellent service. Not saying they're the only shop I'll go to, but all the guys there are car guys. I trust em'.

I don't care race/religion/orientation, etc as long as they are capable to do the work timely and professionally, but the movement allowed so many unqualified folks (including white folks) the service industry in general has gone to crap.

That is totally untrue but I'm not going to argue with smooth brain people about it.
LOL, you obviously can't tell the difference between quality work and shit. You are perfect for the movement man. But remember, DEI is a thing of the past. Hoping things get better from here forward.

That said, I got my appointment to get my tires replaced on my other car's wheels this week. Quite a hassle to drive all the way down there in my other car (I bring the wheels loose with center caps and weights removed), but knowing my bud there can do the work without messing up the wheels it is worth the trip and time.

A good indication is, when you pull up outside, wait and see if someone asks "is that your car?"

the enthusiasts usually expose themselves and will hopefully be the ones to take care of you.

sometimes just seeing the wheels, someone will ask "what are these going on?" and the conversation will speak for itself.

Bingo! Happens all the time. I‘ve got an alignment shop (besides the race place) and an overall BMW mechanic that are all fantastic. Love the car & put their time and attention into it. You really can tell the difference easily.
