Yes, and it gets on my nerve.Has anyone noticed just breathing on our cars leaves micro scratches and marring or is is just me?
For a long time I thought about wrapping it. Still debating.I'm thinking our paint is so bad it wouldn't even hurt the value if I went and recleared with better clear coat.
I have never heard of a car where owners have bemoaned the paint being hard and thick. I saw this elsewhere and from what I can tell, it seems our paint isn't thin at all, if this car is a representative sample.Very soft and very thin. Not much there.

Interesting. I have the same paint thickness gauge and measure an average of upper 4’s (mils) around the car. The hood actually measured high 3’s. It’s my understanding that a guy wants to see mid to upper 5’s. How have you set up your gauge? Maybe mine is set up wrong.I have never heard of a car where owners have bemoaned the paint being hard and thick. Not my gauge or images mate. Just saw this posted elsewhere so I thought I'd post it here. I can't vouch for the veracity of it, just interesting.Interesting. Lead is decades old. Manufacturers have been shooting water based since the 80’s due to government regulations on VOCs. Body shops began adopting water based paint within the last decade. We made the switch from solvent based to water in 2015.All paint on modern cars are weak these days due to manufacturers no longer using lead based paint and opting it for water based, and it doesnt help they layer it lightly than back then too
But this time, it’s the real deal!! /sLiterally every car forum I have been on over the last 30 years have made these exact same statements. Lol
