Anyone else running a K&N filter in the stock air box. I pulled mine after 7,500 miles and it was surprisingly clean.

Decided to clean it and spray a very light oiling on it (less is more… don’t saturate). I use the K&N kit to clean and oil. Easy to use.

Per manufacturer:

The service interval for a drop-in replacement K&N® High-Flow Air Filter™ can vary greatly depending on the severity of driving conditions-from 100 miles in a desert-racing environment to up to 75,000 miles under normal highway driving conditions. K&N replacement air filters that fit in the factory air box can go up to 75,000 miles before cleaning is required (under normal highway driving conditions), and the larger conical filters included with K&N air intake systems can go up to 100,000 miles before needing to be cleaned (under normal highway driving conditions).

I have been running a drop in K & N filter for about 15k miles. Haven't checked it yet, probably should soon. Ran same in my last car 2016 Mustang GT for over 40k miles, cleaned a couple times, worked great.
