Key in pocket, detection issues

I've noticed that when I have a key in my left trouser pocket, it doesn't get detected until I pull it out. Wanted to check is it's an issue for everybody since when I have the key in a backpack in a trunk, there is no trouble.

Is your cell phone in the same pocket? I have issues if my keys are near my cell phone. Can't imagine what its doing to my sperm.

Yeah, phone is not closeby.
The issue is sporadic though. Weird.

Happens on all my cars depending on clothing and phone/etc blocking key.
If you put key into the cup holder, it complains key is missing...
Do you have case around key fob, that affects a bit as well.

Cupholder seems fine so far. No case on mine. And I just went for lunch and it worked from the pocket.. So clothing matters for sure, like you said.

Happens to me all the time. If I turn so that the pocket with the key in it is facing the car, works great. I just assume my fat ass is just too much for the fob transmitter
