Ive changed from panasonic, duracell and energized and the car still won’t recognize the key fob

Yeah I read that, but the resolution was that Toyota bought back his car since they couldn’t find the problem. Thread is 5 years old and this just happen recently when I changed the key fob battery.

Sounds as though you may have to reset it via the steering column. Changing the battery shouldn’t have caused that but who knows with this shit anymore.

If it works with the key fob close to the steering wheel then you either have a DoA battery, a wrong battery or an upside down battery, take your pick.
The fact it registers when close to the steering column and locks/unlocks proves this.

+1 on weak fob battery. Sometimes new battery is weak from sitting too long on the shelf

I’ve tried varies battery of all of the brands and no result. Not sure if I should hard reset the car by unplugging the battery
