Hello everyone, long story short I feel it’s really difficult for me in the supra to heel toe without mashing the brake in, it just feels like the throttle is too far to heel toe. I was looking into solutions, but didn’t find much other than custom metal additions on the pedals to bring them closer, but I don’t really want to drill into them.

Anyone have experience with heel toe in the supra? Any advice would be appreciated whether it’s technique or solutions like pedals or maybe spacers from a company I didn’t know about?

I heel-toe fine, you just need to get used to the engagement distance of the brake pedal and gas. It'll take a lot of practice.

Yep. To heel & toe properly you need a solid pivot point on the brake pedal which is what you get on a race track under heavy braking. In normal road driving you don't brake hard enough for that so the jab at the throttle pedal causes a variation in the braking making the whole process pretty useless and messy. Even track heel and toeing isn't a precise action and more a stab at the throttle which gets the rpm somewhere in the ballpark with regards to transmission/car speed which is fine on the track. The other issue is a race engine also catches rpm much faster than a road engine so the quick stab at the throttle is much more effective. Naturally a ton of people here will tell you how great they are at it on their road car but I've yet to witness anyone that can do it with any utility on the road. I'm sure one exists somewhere, lol. There's no shame using the on board rev matching the Supra comes with. Those that say it means you're not a "skilled manual drive" if you can't heel and toe never seem to make the same argument about their use of a synchromesh gearbox that eliminates the need to double clutch and rev match to change gears like the old days.

I've also found that the auto rev match feature can correctly raise the rpm when downshifting to gear 2 MUCH quicker than you can when physically holding in the clutch and blipping manually.. could be just me but I tested it a few times and for whatever reason, the auto rev match features gets the revs up to the correct rpm for a downshift much faster

On track it feels easier than on street. Almost don’t really have to think about it. I think you just have to get used to it on street. Took me a while to get a good feeling of the gas pedal and rhythm of it all

Yeah, the Supra pedals are a bit spaced out for heel-toe for sure. A lot of people just tweak their foot angle and practice sliding the heel between throttle and brake until it feels natural. If you don’t want to drill, some folks use bolt-on pedal spacers or even small rubber pads to bring the throttle closer without permanent mods.

Just use the side of your foot to blip, not your actual heel. The Supra's pedals are fine as they are, just practice and keep at it.

You'll get it eventually unless.. auto rev match defeats the purpose of fun MT driving.
