Most revealing 2020 Supra prototype spy pics yet, Spotted 3/19/18!

Are the fake vents just a style effort to make people think the car is sporty? I just don't understand why these would be added to sports cars if most of the people buying these cars are so turned off by them? Or am I completely wrong in assuming that a majority of the people buying sports cars don't care?

To me, this is just as unattractive as grabbing one of those fake hood vents from auto zone and placing it on the hood of a honda civc. No purpose and everybody knows that there is no function or value added?

Yeah I think it was an attempt by Toyota to make it look like the FT1 while trying to fit it within the Z4's short wheel base.

Lexusisf is right, I don't think it's so much that the car has vents or not, I think it's more about whether the vents are functional or not. I don't mind vents as long as they are real. These side vents remind me of the late 90's Mustangs when they had those god-awful plastic fake vents on the hood and doors. Those things were terrible....absolutely terrible. If they serve a function, then ok....but to add them for the sake of trying to look cooler.....Toyota don't!

For those that are that concern about visibility you should buy a pick up.

On a serious can everyone please shut up about the mirrors already! Those are not the production units. They are straight off of a 3 series and only there for testing purposes.

Fun fact, the LFA prototype had MKIV mirrors on them. But that didn't mean they were used for the production car.

Exactly. I love vents! If they're functional. But I would hate to go up to a new Supra and see the vent outline with plastic covering the whole vent. It's like a bad tease....I'd probably bring out the dremel and make some real vents myself hahaha.

Your probably right about the mirrors being there for testing purposes. I personally think the mirrors will be one of the “shared parts” with the Z4. However, the MKIV Supra mirrors on the LFA mule look an awful lot closer to the “F” mirrors on the production LFA. The two head engineers of the FT-1 even hinted that safety regulations may not allow the use of the FT-1 style mirrors on the actual production car on the episode of Jay Leno’s garage.

Yes they did. Camo or not, they are clearly from the F30 3 series.

Tada san said the exterior and interior won't share parts with the Z4. I just re watched it. They said it is possible, but there would have to be a release on it and the mirror lens would have to be larger. Whether they will look like the FT1 or not, I can almost guarantee the ones on the prototype are not the real deal.
