New transmission 2023 Supra

So, my local Toyota dealership is putting in a new trans for me since the aluminum casting is leaking…. My car is femto unlocked….. Will they end up relockin the ecu ? I know the tech so he won’t do it relock if it’s not necessary…. Or is it just a relearn sequence for the trans?

Might want to ask on the BMW forum. I highly doubt anyone on this forum would have any experience, let alone an educated guess on the technical requirement for your repair. Your Toyota techs are probably browsing the BMW forums for answers, too. Lol

I'm going to say, yes it will be relocked. They will most likely plug it in to program it and all the modules will update.

Ask for a "friend" lol, some dealerships don't care at all and will save you from having to ship out the ECU again.

Well you 'know the tech' Ask him or should have already lol!

It will lock as they hook up BMW software to program and calibrate trans. you wont have to resend overseas but will have to have someone hook up or remote reflash tune
