Count me out on the A100 if they go back to the A80 styling.

In the 90s, A80 is the most aesthetically unappealing out of the five JDM heros- NSX, RX7, Supra, 3000GT and GTR.

The A80 looks bloated and looks ordinary next to the other 4s. I test drove a 280hp JDM version back in 98 and it doesn't feel as sporty as the 245hp MR2 GTS so I ended up buying the MR2 instead. Looks heaps sportier too. My friend had a 3000GT and we raced each other quite often lol

It's just that everyone wants BEV and that tech just isn't at the level it needs to be for certain apps. They want a specific power to weight ratio, with power being right around 500hp with a specific range target (don't recall anyone mentioning a figure, but I believe ~600km would be lowest acceptable rate). That's not necessarily hard until you factor in weight, which is a big component of a sports car...

There's still time, but from what was being discussed it certainly seemed like things were going to have to pivot.
Is Toyota going to make it an AWD? because it seems like everyone's doing that

I hope they just make it look like a GR86 on steroids

I really love the way the new GR86 looks - the Lexus F fender flare really sets it off. I wish they would have done that with the Supra. I know there are aftermarket fenders that add it but wish it was OEM.

X2, the 86 has a really clean design. No need to track on a bunch of fake vents for no reason.

I think they did a good job on the A90.

Look at the curves on the body and how wide those hips are. Conjuring up an image of a panther leaping out on a prey. I love it. With the A100 I hope the design language will continue on along this theme.

It definitely has character, but idk if all that is going to age very well.

exactly. I've got an RCF and it's a fantastic car. But it doesn't have a patch on the A90 dynamically
Right but that thing is build on both old and outdated mismatched platforms. What I take away from this whole thread makes me think what will likely happen going forward is that Toyota will have one dedicated platform that is scalable for the LFR, LC, RC and Supra.
