Probably my path too. The « racecar » people got it done, yes. But there still were a lot of people waiting. Got caught in the wrong crowd. Fml
I waited as well, no worries...things will calm down and time will see things change. I only have a JB+ right now on my car and it does pretty well, a JB4 would be even better. The ECU unlock can be done, and it will eventually be done by someone else - just takes some time :)

I should have. I wanted to enjoy each step or mod for a while before moving on to the next one. AKA take it slow and enjoy it while waiting for the price to drop. As I have said before: I guess I waited too long. Maybe I'll do like Elsupra and go JB4 with a Pure 800.
Not to rub it in, but you could have unlocked without tuning, then you'd be all set on your terms.

PPE and Visconti probably have received hundreds of 'clone files' from Femto for their customers' ECUs. Do PPE and Visconti have the ability to clone an ECU using these files, without needing anything else from Femto? (meaning they already have the standalone cloning software in their possession). If this is true, then I would start by analyzing the set of clone files and their differences with the knowledge of the variables (VIN) that exist between them. Being able to create a 'clone file' is the magic that they are protecting - writing a clone file to an ECU is not. Comments please.

You need the calibration file from the ECU. It's specific to -each- ECU. Includes things like the key programming, VIN, and mileage (among other things). You need the calibration file from the factory ECU.

Are you saying the 'calibration file' is ALSO generated by Femto in addition to another Femto generated clone file? Or the calibration file IS the clone file that is received from Femto?

It is the file that Femto provides.

Most of the people that were serious about this jumped on it. Fast.
you aint lying!!! i have never seen people jump that fast to spend several thousand dollars with a huge chance at shipment loss until FEMTO said we can unlock them. haha.

there is absolutly nothing wrong with taking your time. your car your pace. enjoy it. This wont go away forever im sure.

this generally wont work. The way the programming works on BMW/Bosch, all step levels and software need to match and are individual to the car. So you can clone another cars file and flash for another car because signatures wouldnt match. Well you can, BUT, its a LOT of work. And only a small handful, smaller than a handful of people know how to do it.

Can’t we just make a clone to an older ecu without unlocking the post 6/20 ecu? Then we can just unlock the older ecu.

Yes. But you need Russia to read the calibration file from the old ECU.

All - if this was an easy process, it would be widely available by now, not from a single company in Russia. Probably a very specialized skill set of knowledge in automotive, hardware, software, and encryption. Many of us will just need to wait until this world conflict either ends or someone else spends enough brain cycles to figure out to crack the DME like FEMTO has.

Im VERY glad I immediately jumped on it. Im sure it will eventually open back up again but this could last quite a long time.

Sad and pathetic all this. Putin the idiot coward. Such a show of strength against a much weaker opponent. Classic dipsh-t dictator move.
Shows how little knowledge and inten you actually have on this matter. This is much more complex then you could ever realize and most definitely not what you have been led to believe. Best to just stick with the subject of our cars and leave the politics to the political forums please and thank you. Much appreciated.
