I have leather in my IS and it was not bearable without the vented option.
Alcantara, I've had before (Recaro seats) and they don't heat up (or very little) in the summer time, which is why I asked about them.
The IS probably has 3x the glass area of a Supra so I’d expect the Supra to be different. I was surprised how comfortable the Supra is getting into it after work on a hot day.

They are ok for street driving, they have decent support on track on the back, but they are too slippery and lack support at the legs level.

I will swap them out for aftermarket seats eventually, but not for 2-3 years for sure

It's so funny how these cars are spec'd around the world. In Australia, we can only get Alcantara seats in our highest spec cars - for an additional cost. So we can have Alcantara seats; all the safety features; a HUD and the premium audio system. Wild.

Yours has driver assist? And the same screen size as the premium models? And the same iDrive controller? I thought these things were also different on the base models. Also some have smaller rear brakes.
That's a lot of differences...
It does have smaller rear rotors but I’m pretty sure the difference is unnoticeable.
Your right if just driving around town, who cares. However Dan nailed it. If you plan on tracking it, that will be the biggest thing you will miss. It’s a pain in the arse to find decent pads in that size. Most will go out and actually buy the premium calipers to have the option of all the great track pads we have access to.

We only get the fully loaded premium in Canada, not a single option available...
Same with our premiums ?

Thanks. I will keep that in mind if I decide to get serious about tracking.

The base model of Manual (2024+) have the same brakes as Premium (red painted and same size). If u plan to get a MT in base trim, then don’t worry about the brakes.
That’s good to know!! Thanks B2B

I have a base 3.0 manual transmission, live in USA, and have all the same electronics including the phone charger and upgraded speakers with no HUD. I purposely got base for the heated but not ventilated Alcantara seats and I am running CSG pads and giroline rotors so I can tell you for 100% certain that the rear brakes are the premium 345 mm rotors whereas the Base AT car has the smaller rotors in the rear. If you’re going MT I’d get the base model over the premium all day!

not sure if I was clear. In Canada, the only Supra you can get is the fully loaded premium.
You were probably clear as day, for most peeps. Me on the other hand… ? thx for clarifying Rob ?

I’d much rather have that over turning off so many nannies & cameras. It’s nice on the highway, the adaptive cruise. But honestly, that’s about it. The missing rear calipers for us ZF folks, I found out later. I couldn’t locate a base 3.0 at the time that anyone was willing to deal on at tIme, with grey & red interior.

Thanks for the info!

I'm sticking to a second hand one for now, since a brand new one is either $79,302.85 CDN or $83,433.33 CDN with taxes (MSRP), depending on which dealer you go to.
And they have it in overstock, nobody is paying above MSRP for these cars anymore, at least in Montreal.

I'm hoping to find a used one for $50K CDN, all in.

Toyota.ca is showing the base manual as an option. I'll find out this week if dealers can actually get it though.

I'm leaning towards a base, manual 2024+ :)
