Hi Everyone! I finally made the decision to purchase a set of Öhlins. They look amazing and I’m excited to get these installed.

While I was reading the provided install instructions, I noticed that Ohlins provides measurements for their ideal ride height.

I was wondering what would happen if I installed the bottom height adjuster to the max as pictured? Does the car go lower than the recommended 15-20mm? Or does the sway bar endlinks prevent it from adjusting lower? For reference, I am going to use stock top hats and oem endlinks.

Thats how mine are installed as well as basically zero preload on the spring. But take that with a grain of salt since I am using the Verus top hats. Ride height may vary. My car is about 1/2" lower than stock with those settings.

My alignment & height were adjusted a few times along the way as I got more comfortable. The faster I went the greater wiggle room I needed. Sean’s advice has always been solid and would be a great place to start.

I just got these installed today by a shop near my house. It’s about a two finger gap all around and on A052’s in stock tire size. I’m about 10 click from full stiff. The suspension feels awesome so far. It feels pretty smooth, but I can feel a little more road imperfections compared to stock. I’ll need to mess around with the dampening to get it just right for California’s crappy roads lol.

My alignment & height were adjusted a few times along the way as I got more comfortable. The faster I went the greater wiggle room I needed. so I had a shop install them, but after a few weeks the ride height wasn’t even as I would like especially in the rear. So I wanted to adjust the height in the rear and make sure preload was ok.

after watching a couple videos on adjusting divorced coilovers, I went ahead and loosened up the rear spring and lengthened the shock to make sure there isn’t preload. Then I set the ride height (eye balling it) with the rear spring. And then I lowered the shock to add tension (preload) on the spring.

it ultimately gave me like a one finger gap in the rear, which was way too low. So I decided to add more preload on the spring while lengthening the shock at the same time. I probably added like 10mm of preload on the rear spring to finally get it to a tight two finger gap.

does this sound like I did this correctly? I’ll tell you that I’m not a fan of divorced coilovers setups lol ?

Let’s see, lots of trial and error, probably hated every moment of it and now you don’t like divorced setups. Yep you did it 100% correct. Hope I never have to adjust mine again.

oh man they definitely improve handling on backroads! I’m sure they are amazing on track. I’m hoping to hit streets of willow soon. It’s my proving ground haha

Let me know when you do track days! I have lots of other Supra guys who frequent all our local tracks. Laguna Seca is in 2 weeks for me.

I’ll be installing the Ohlin RTs with my existing Verus camber plates (thanks to your mod and blueprint), the camber plate will be on top of the ohlins silver spring seat, right?

Still haven’t figured out what to do as my local machine shops are asking $150-300 per piece…
