Hey and yes I did hear the noise when pulling away from a light or stop sign, no power loss for me though. Once the car got into a higher gear 3rd and 4th the noise went away only happened when taking off so in 1st and 2nd gear. It was a whining noise similar to a bad alternator, not too loud but noticeable, it did happen every time when I drove the car so it was consistent. I also heard the noise when stationary and giving it gas to about 1k - 2.5k rpm. The noise only appeared after about 5 minutes of driving as I tried to replicate it on cold starts but wasn't successful. After they replaced the oil pump I no longer hear the noise and have tried numerous times to replicate it since the fix but it's all good now.Just double checking, but did you hear this whine when you pulled away from a light? Did it feel like you lost a little power for a second? I'm trying to diagnose a similar whine with my 2020 and want to get it sorted before the warranty is out.
Also how often did it happen? I tried having my inde shop take a look but they couldn't replicate it, but of course I hear it when I'm driving home..
But yeah I would take it to Toyota, put the car back to stock and have them address your concern. I love independent performance shops but when warranty is still in play it only makes sense to have the dealership cover repairs. Also are you able to measure your oil level ? Since it was the oil pump for me. And what area do you hear the noise coming from ?
