Don't like the adhesive - don't like the wing.

Style of the wing is fine. I think it needs some bolts to mount onto the trunk though. You could drill some holes and use your own nuts and bolts.

Agreed with the above. That adhesive is probably going to pull off the paint or lead to the wing falling off, might as well just bolt it to the hatch with a reinforcement plate.

also...why is homie wearing a fire suit while working on the wing????

I don’t think the wing is bad, but I would also screw it down for safety. I don’t know if you have already obtained the prices from Talaria, but here in Germany Manhart sells the parts (at least they look identical) under their own name, and the prices are extremely high.

Link to Manhart: https://manhart-performance.de/en/tuning-parts/category/exterior/?_produkt_filter_neu=toyota-en

I had looked at the parts on the Manhart website about a year ago, and back then they were still 25% cheaper. The wing, for example, costs a ‘cheap’ €3,340 . Of course, it could be that Manhart is adding quite a margin on top. As far as I know, Talaria is based in Russia, and due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict with all the sanctions, shipping is extremely expensive and complicated.

Yeah think Manhart have added their own mark up ontop, direct with Talarie was quoted £1820 plus £540 postage (plus import duty). Think Manhart just rebrand products as if you look at their carbon intake, is identical to the Armaspeed one. Do really like the look of this spoiler though and the non drilling element appeals, if it stays on lol They did say its been tested to 285kmh and looking at their other videos, there's a few Russian Supras with them fitted.

MATE - For £2360 could get you a tune, exhaust, intake OR suspension/better tires - and your car would actually be faster then :)

Fine for a show car but no way that would hold up at freeway speeds over time.

Just from an aero standpoint...

You want the AoA at a given cross section to work with the general body lines in proximity to that cross section because they air generally follows that path. The more data, the less general this becomes.

That dip seems like they want to compound off of the integrated lip on the trunk lid, but I don't buy the idea that it has enough say so to justify the AoA being that high across the center. I could see myself jumping through the mental gymnastics to make something like this work, but I could also see someone dismantling that very promptly and I would agree with them.

Straight wings typically do fine because the air passing over the ends are at a lower AoA and well within drag to lift preferences, while the center is a good bit higher coming off of the roof and therefore higher on the lift while hopefully not too bad on drag. Your wing setting is one number serving two ideas. Or you could just jack the wing as high as the rulebook allows and focus more on just one concern (and still just one number).

Twisted wings (that's just what I've known them as) that have a lower AoA in the center and higher at the ends are usually great when you know what the centerline likes in relation to the ends as well as where that transition should occur.

My guess is they took a twisted wing, thought "the supra already has a lip RIGHT THERE" and then based it off of that after a few youtube videos about dual element wings.

Oh and it'll probably fall off. I dig the endplates though.

At the very least, we should better articulate why the wing sucks so it trickles down to the stance crowd and they can ridicule it with legit reasons.

Shorter version: hatch downdraft increases the effective AoA in the center. Motorsports wings twist the center up to cancel that effect out, so the AoA is more even all the way across. Twisting it down like this thing causes the center to stall and become a giant airbrake.
