Phone mount...

I posted this a while back in another thread, but thought I would show it since I've really liked it ...

Not perfect, but here’s what I ended up with. Pulled the stupid flap out first, then tried a few different mounts and ended up with this one. Bought an 6” flat cord and it snaps into the back of the mount to hold it there. Phone stays in place really well and is usable if needed.

Our vent doesn't have much clearance so the regular ones was no go. I don't have a magnet case and didn't want to go with the ProClip; heard from a few others, it leaves an imprint on the dash over time. Ironically, what ended up working was this one from Walmart. Fitting is perfect, cost me $15 CAD.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I got a proclip phone mount (before I read this thread) and was worried that it'll leave a dent in the dash like you guys experienced so I tested it for 3 days and indeed, it left a decent dent but went away after a couple of days. I ended up heating up the procip plastic and bending the top part of the bracket down to relieve some pressure on the dash like the picture below. The original part had the top portion at 90 degrees to the face of the mount.

Tested it for another 3 days and took it off. Barely any dent, maybe slight ridge but you can see how it contours the dash way better and took much less force to get into place than stock. The mount is still secured solidly.

Anyway, just wanted to share for those that have the proclip mount.
