You know a phone in your pocket causes interdimensional diarrhea, do you? I mean, it’s been proven by multiple researches and all.
That’s only to the unborn tadpoles.

Not perfect, but here’s what I ended up with. Pulled the stupid flap out first, then tried a few different mounts and ended up with this one. Bought an 6” flat cord and it snaps into the back of the mount to hold it there. Phone stays in place really well and is usable if needed.

I really like my current setup. Super sturdy, right where I want it, super clean. Mous case and Magsafe vent mount.

Still love mine and the mounting area so it's not in the way of other controls... and not an eyesore to the interior. The 12" black charging cord is a plus to keep things clean looking as well.

I just put my phone in the "trash cubby" and it's just fine in there.

Pro clip here as well.

It takes a surprising amount of force to install which had me seriously worried I was going to break the clip or the trim on the car. Both held up and now this mount isn't going anywhere, even with significant lateral g. It's removable, but I'm sure there are permanent crease lines in the soft dash trim. Just in case people worry about that stuff. I don't plan to remove it so it's not a big worry for me.

It rotates 90 degrees which keeps it out of the way of the main screen. Even if you don't go pro clip, I recommend any options that let you change the orientation of your phone. It also sits a little bit away from the vent which means airflow for the passenger is barely disrupted.

ProClip here, using a somewhat custom combination of parts from them. I left some details in a different phone mount thread, but will repost here:

ProClip MagSafe Mount

I wanted to have the phone closer to the driver, near the emergency lights button. Also wanted to avoid having the vents blow directly on the phone, which this generally solves. By itself, the mount had the phone a bit high which caused it to block part of the infotainment screen. Was able to solve with a combination of hardware:

Supra Angled Mount
https://www.proclipusa.com/product/855595-angled-mount

MagSafe Mount (FYI if you have 12 Max you may need a different mount)
https://www.proclipusa.com/product/iphone-holder-for-magsafe-charger

Small Left/Right Extension Plate
https://www.proclipusa.com/product/215395-left-right-extension-plate

15 Degree Wedge
https://www.proclipusa.com/product/215964-15-degree-wedge

The wedge both helps angle the mount towards the driver and gives enough clearance for the extension plate to fit. Hard to reach a few of the radio preset buttons but I don't really use most of them.

Part of the reason I went for this setup is that with my current phone case it is kind of a pain to slide the phone in and out of the built-in charging tray area. Also, like being able to use Waze/Maps on the car screen and have music playlist / controls on the phone.

Any issues with the ProClip warping the dash? Some reviews on the ProClip website say it did, but the manufacturer is saying it is not permanent.
