One caveat to this... if you aren't going to put your own aftermarket wheels on, the wheel and tire package from a dealer is usually an actual good value as long as it covers both damage and cosmetic. Get a scratch, they refinish for free. Bend a wheel, replaced for free. And price on this is always negotiable, so don't pay full price if this makes sense. Depending on the dealer you can probably get it for $1200 - $1500 for 5 years of coverage. Cost goes down if you want it for a shorter term. Please take this advice. Also watch out for the finance manager trying to get you to get all those different type warranties.
I never considered this but the one I test drove today had quite a few scrapes on the wheels. I’m thinking it was because of how the mirrors tilt down at an awkward angle when you reverse it.One caveat to this... if you aren't going to put your own aftermarket wheels on, the wheel and tire package from a dealer is usually an actual good value as long as it covers both damage and cosmetic. This is true! I can usually get a good sense of the salesperson and how trust worthy they can be. So far I haven’t found any dealership that sticks out to me.I worked in the automotive industry for 30 years, 20 of those of those being at a dealership selling cars. The reason I say first find a dealership that you want to do business with is, TRUST. There are a LOT of scum bags out there but if you find a good dealership then they will take care of you.
My biggest complaint with the entire car is the lack of a Birds Eye camera. My last 2 cars had one and my wife’s currently does as well.I never considered this but the one I test drove today had quite a few scrapes on the wheels. Yes! That would make a world of difference. Though to be fair the one I drove was just a base so it was missing the parking sensors. My biggest complaint with the entire car is the lack of a Birds Eye camera. My last 2 cars had one and my wife’s currently does as well.
I'd settle for just a front parking camera in addition to the existing backup cam.My biggest complaint with the entire car is the lack of a Birds Eye camera. My last 2 cars had one and my wife’s currently does as well.
Oh for sure. I’ve only had 2 real underside scraps and the front camera would have 100% prevented them.I'd settle for just a front parking camera in addition to the existing backup cam.
Same boat for me. After my 2nd one, I just started backing into every spot. I usually only park forwards when there's no curb or anything in front of the spot now.Oh for sure. I’ve only had 2 real underside scraps and the front camera would have 100% prevented them.
That's a setting you can change if you don't like it.I never considered this but the one I test drove today had quite a few scrapes on the wheels. I’m thinking it was because of how the mirrors tilt down at an awkward angle when you reverse it.
I actually, believe it or not, agree that this is a useful piece of car technology. My biggest complaint with the entire car is the lack of a Birds Eye camera. My last 2 cars had one and my wife’s currently does as well.
Hmm I didn’t know the Birds Eye camera added horsepower??I actually, believe it or not, agree that this is a useful piece of car technology.
