Did you put a down payment for your supra? It's no different. Shows commitment. Being a new product they don't want to over produce initial batch and be stuck with x amount if not sold. Collecting down payment guarantees the amount they can sell and gauge how many to produce.

Are you dense. Have you not read on this forum the multiple people putting down payments just to get on a wait list for the Supra. Small fraction actually drive off same day they call in about one.

No one is walking in putting a down payment and driving off with a supra same day.

lmao….. if I’m dense what does it make you? You apparently don’t know what the difference is between a down payment and a deposit is. You put a deposit to allocate your vehicle not a down payment my guy.

I’m surprised no one has done a test for this with the oem manifold.

I don't think it works with the OEM manifold, so it's a misleading post. CSF states that it doesn't work/fit with the stock unit and BMS doesn't have any info. Either way, I haven't (yet) seen anyone post info about installing an aftermarket phenolic spacer on the OEM manifold.

this is the same i gather.. would love some data on this. i can't justify an aftermarket manifold for the way i drive the car, but less heat soak is always welcome. unfortunate

That’s because it ain’t going to do shit with a plastic manifold.

As an aside, my Wagner manifold is cool to the touch directly coming off a 20min track session.

it seems a phenolic spacer would be advantageous for any aftermarket mani. What am I missing? I have an EOS that I'm waiting to install and wondering if a phenolic spacer would help with IATs.

Didn't bother reading all the way through, but it's hilarious to see the drag guys argue with circuit racing guys even though they use the manifold completely differently.

Drag guys - use the cooling system as a giant heat sink for 10 seconds (or less)

Goal: pull as much heat out of the charge air as possible for 10 seconds.

Solution: huge core manifold that flows tons of coolant quickly (and get the coolant really cold, eg ice box)

Literally don't even need a heat exchanger. Never heat soaks.

Circuit racing - need continuous cooling over 5 to 30 minutes

Goal: pull as much heat out as possible for an extended period of time.

Solution: decent manifold that supplies adequate steady state cooling and even distribution of cooling across cylinders.

Heat exchanger is critical to keep cooling the fluid over extended periods of time and heat soak is virtually guaranteed except in cold weather. Huge core and icebox wouldn't be great since they would probably heat soaked after sitting on the grid and completing the warm up lap.

It's pretty much totally different use cases and I can see how the solution for one group is not very useful to the other and vice versa.

My burden of proof lmao. It's common sense. Same as me saying if you use a single M5 nozzle with your horse power you'll get the same if not better cooling effects. Do I have any data.No.
