Has anybody had any experience filing a diminished value claim?

yes, it sucks. I had to sue Gieco for DV when one of their drivers hit me, in front of a cop, texting, on dashcam. still had to take to court

I accidentally put a decent mark in my front bumper while putting my splitter on. The body shop I use does top work and will not half ass a job even if you ask them to. He said in order to fix that small mark the whole front clip would need to be resprayed and blended properly. The main reason is because the paint is so thin on cars now that if you dont fully blend the panels you will see a color difference. We ended up using a bit of touch up paint and with the PPF you cant tell its there unless you are a foot away from it.

There is zero chance in fixing your damage properly without a brand new bumper. Even if you pop it out and use some bondo its going to crack in the future. Do not let this idiot convince you to cheap out, he hit your car its his problem not yours. Go through his insurance and make sure you get a quote from a solid shop first. Id be shocked if it was a dollar under 3k, probably 3-6k to do correctly including the radar alignment after the new bumper is installed.

Wow what a clown. Not only is he an idiot that can't properly drive his truck, but he wants to cheap out on repair. Take it to insurance. Sorry this happened. People suck.
