I've daily driven several cars with HEAVY aftermarket clutches and lightweight flywheels. Hell, I DD'd an STi swapped 1999 Subaru 2.5RS with a dog box for a week that I borrowed from a friend. I wanted to see if I could live with it in my car. I won't lie, the straight cut gears suck in traffic, but the clutch is not a big deal. You just have to pay attention to the traffic around you and be proactive. The whole sitting in traffic and I can't drive a manual argument is ridiculous.
The manual is super easy and the clutch is dumb light.
If you want a stick car, get the stick car and don't settle for less.
I still haven't heard much about the car - It's definitely not a 23, probably a 21 or 22 is my guess. I didn't even think about the data that the ECU logs - that's a great idea to have them show me what it has as a history. If I’m not mistaken, you said it was a M/T 2023 with 3k miles?? The car would not even be ready for an oil change or have enough time to have a consumption problem. Most likely somebody bought the car and didn’t like it and traded it for something that they thought was more practical. We all know the Supra isn’t a people hauler. So if you want to be sure the car was broken in right, go to the dealer and have them hook the car up to the OBD2 port with their computer and show you the run times with max rev limits. All of the data that you need to remove your fears is at your Toyota Dealer. Just ask the sales department to get you the ECU data and make a decision to buy or not. FYI the automatic is faster but the M/T is pure driving pleasure.

Correct, when I mentioned the MT option I was explaining that I had a 23 MT on order with another dealer.. I shouldn't have brought that into this conversation as this was really all about buying a used Supra. Hopefully their price is right, if not, I will continue to wait for another one.If it’s a 21 or 22 it’s not a manual.
Congrats! It took me a year to find a yellow base model... But I also ended up with a '21. It had only 1900mi on it. ????So...... I bought it..
It's a 21 3.0 Premium AT and has less than 4000 miles on it. It was a Toyota corporate lease and obviously it was someone's second car. It's super clean! I checked all over it. The shipping spacers are removed.
I talked them up 2,000 on my trade and down 2,000 on the purchase price for the Supra.
I asked about accessing the ECU and after talking to the Supra mechanics, they said I wouldn't find what I was looking for in the ECU about the break-in treatment.
I'm a happy camper!
Wow! 1900.. that's amazing. Oh yeah! It is super nice and so unexpected. Thank you. I'm really surprised that they worked with me on price. This car was only on the lot for a few days and now it's mine.Congrats! It took me a year to find a yellow base model... But I also ended up with a '21. It had only 1900mi on it. ????
