This post is mostly to add a visual comparison of the sidewall profile of both tires in case anyone else finds it helpful.

I upgraded my rears to 295 PSSs when I got my Gram Lights, but I still felt like those looked stretched (fronts not so much). I didn't want to move to 305s, but I found that the ExtremeContact Sports appeared to have a more square sidewall. I picked up the Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02s for this reason among others.

Because I want to stay at stock height for the foreseeable future, this cosmetic difference holds a bit more weight for me as less stretch gives the appearance of filling the wheel well a bit better.

(Side profile of the whole car on stock suspension here.)

Looks great to me! I had those tires on my STi, absolutely loved them.

what are the pros and cons of these compared to the PSS?

I assume a little more tread life but a little less grip?

I have the Contis ECS2 on my E92 M3 and MP4S on the Supra. I like the turn in response of the ECS2 over the MP4S but the wet traction on the MP4S is superior.

I loved the ECS02. The figment was definitely meatier and looked way better than PSS. The grip was also better in my experience

I’ve since moved to RE-71RS which obviously blows ECS02, PSS, and PS4S out of the water in terms of grip. Sadly they don’t come in a wider or taller sidewall for my 18” Apex wheels. 19’s really do have the best fitment for non-drag radials.

Any idea which one has better treadwear?

Not clue yet. Only had the ECS2 for about 1k miles.
I am up in the air about which tires to get. About to order replacements for my stock tires this weekend, but as I daily my supra having good treadlife is definitely important to me.

I think im just gonna go with the ECS2s to give them a go

I've had both and like both. Contis do have a fuller look to them (which I like), but the sidewalls are a bit soft compared to the Michelin's for spirited driving.

How is treadwear holding up on the RE71RS tires? Also, interested in your driving impressions on the street.

I was shopping for tires and you made up my mind to get the RE71 RS 🙏 What's tire sizes did you go with the Apex wheels square set up 18x10???

The treadwear actually doesn’t look terrible. I drive 40k miles a year so I might switch to something more durable, but I’ve been on a couple track days with them and 8k miles so far, and they look like they could go another 8. So not much worse than PS4S in my experience.

As for driving it, it’s nothing short of incredible at the track. Once you get them warmed up they will grip like hell. Biggest problem with using them on the street is that they’ll seldom, if ever, get hot enough to get all the grip. They suck at roll racing, lol.

I stayed staggered with 18x10 and 18x11. Thought going squared would increase the oversteer, but really it was just with the stock tires that the car felt really uneasy all over the track. Now I kinda wish I went 18x11 square since I understeer a little now, but nothing a little bit of throttle can’t fix.

I switched to the conit's for the same reason, wish I could get an even meatier look but alas anything more will upset the traction and diff with my wheel setup.

What tire sizes are you running?

I just ordered some Supra Spec wheels (9.5" and 10.5" Rear). I was planning on moving my stock 275 (will I rub lol?) up front and getting some continentals for the rear. I'm not sure if I should go 295/35 or 305/30 in the rear, since the conit's are a little meatier.
