honestly man on the street the nitto nt555rii will easily out perform most "normal" 300ish treadwear UHP summer tires *on the rear axle*

ive had

-michelin super sport
-michelin pilot sport 4 s (x2)

the nitto's manage the rear end of the car better than both around corners.

I've driven a supra with those tires. I don't believe you.

No idea, have never run them. I did run the AD08 years back and they were good in the rain for what they were.

they make two versions of the tire g2 and r2 completely different compound g2 is a hockey puck of a tire maybe you were on that because i assure you it is difficult to get the car to spin now with the r2 on the back

I'm not talking about acceleration grip, I am talking about lateral stability.

Same thing I talk about when people say to shove 295 wide tires on 10" wide wheels and say "FeEls GoOd To Me" while in reality it creates really bad elastic yaw moments.

295s are too wide for 10" wheels. You'll end up with pinched sidewalls, sloppy steering, uneven tire wear etc....

I'll be running 295s with 10.5" wheels and that's really going to be at the limit

Can you mount it? Yes. Does it technically fit? Yes. Would it perform well in a competitive environment? No. Would 90% or more of the population even notice the difference. Probably not.

Hell, when I was a dumb 18 year old I convinced a tire shop to put a 255/60/15 snow tire on 7 inch wheel. I thought it was cool.

The RE71RS is pretty capable in the rain. I've driven on track with them in the wet, no issues if you are using your head. Leave traction control on in heavy rain, the Supra TC is quite good in the wet.

Sometimes it takes seeing it for yourself. Especially when you’re in your youth. I ran a Fox body Mustang in my first few autocross years. Had 17x9 wheels and thought bigger was better . Ran 275/40/17 Hoosiers for two years before someone convinced me to try 245/45s because the sidewall is much better supported. They pretty much guaranteed I’d be faster and there were right. By like a second on a 60 second course. I just had a hard time believing it until I experienced it for myself. Remember, that was at the age where I still thought I knew everything.

And easy on the Mustang comments please. Remember I was young and dumb.

Sorry to nudge myself in here.. I was planning on putting 265 or 275 35 19s front and 295 35 19 on my TE37 SL.. front is 19 x 9.5 and rear is 19 x 10.5.. that wouldn't be too bad? Mainly weekend backroad cruising and a few open lap days on quiet mornings at local track. Edit: I am stock suspension

I mean, you can run that combo if you want. The car is not going to self-combust if you do. It's just not ideal.

I always check this table which uses the calculation formula from the European Tire and Rim Technical Organization, to make sure i have the right tire width on the right wheel width.
