What should I be looking for?
Lift the car and Shake the tire right to left if it moves or you hear a clunk it’s bad. Also do it up and down which would be related to the ball joint.

I had a settings issue which may be related to your problem. At one point, my lane assist refused to turn off, even though all the settings were set to off in iDrive. To fix this I toggled the setting a number of times and eventually it played ball. I also suggest deleting the user profile as this can store gremlins in it too. #BMWThings
I've reset my profile, disabled all the assists and it didn't help. Thanks for the suggestion tho!

I tried this. Both wheels seem sturdy when I tried to shake them left-right and up-down. I did manage to turn both wheels (and the steering wheel) by hand by pushing on the wheel that was up in the air even tho the other was on the ground. Seemed relatively easy.

One thing I did discover are these bundles of joy:

At low speeds removing these didn't change things but it might stop the car from twitching when braking at higher speeds. I'll go for a longer drive tomorrow and see if anything this helped.

The car was at the dealership at least 6 times in the past year and nobody noticed these :(

did you check the other front wheel as well for these shipping blocks? If not do check.

Hi, what is the purpose of those white things? Can you tell us about them?
They are shipping blocks that are attached to the strut springs so that that the car doesn’t bounce up and down and around when shipped and trucked. When I bought my S2000 the idiot dealership didn’t same thing. The car drove like it had no suspension and cushioning.

Not a Corvette.

Oh interesting, where do they come from and why were they still on his springs? Are they attached to the springs or… what did you call it? The strut?

Sorry it didn't solve it but at least you're slowly narrowing it down. What a pain in the ass.

No worries, thanks for the suggestion. It did prompt me to figure out how to turn head unit off when the doors open

Yes. Both of them had these in and are now removed. Thanks for the heads up!

Hi folks!

I have a 2024 MT 3.0 (completely stock) and I'm experiencing an issue I don't know how to deal with. I've attached a couple of videos which demonstrates what's happening. Basically, at some point during the drive I'll feel a slight pull on the steering wheel (happens in both directions) and if I press the brakes in that moment (I just have to tap it really), the car starts pulling to the side. Steering wheel starts pulling to the same side as well. You can see what happens if I let go of the steering wheel in that moment on the videos. This is an intermittent issue and I've spent quite a bit of time trying to understand the conditions under which this happens. So here it goes:
  • Speed of the vehicle this happens at is not important. You can see in the video that the speed is about 25mph and when it happens at higher speeds, it's scary. The whole car rotates. Not fun.
  • It happens both on dry and on wet surfaces. It's more noticeable on wet surfaces tho.
  • Seems to be happening on uneven surfaces which made me suspect it's bump steer but the speeds this happens at are too low for that to be this noticeable (I think).
  • I had winter tires on. They were a bit bigger than the stock ones (235/40/19 and 255/40/19) and this was way more noticeable.
So far I've tried:
  • Changing the driver side caliper thinking that it was seizing. Didn't help.
  • Did a few alignments. Helped a bit. I've attached the last one.
  • Visited the dealership a few times. They couldn't replicate the issue and told me they checked some stuff (didn't get a list) and that everything looks fine.
I have a couple of questions:
  • Am I wrong in thinking there's something wrong with the car?
  • Has anybody else experienced something similar?
  • Is there anything I could do so the dealership takes me seriously?
  • Is there anybody in MA/NH/VT/ME area that could help me troubleshoot this?

Thanks!

Ok, I took the car on a long drive over the weekend and oh boy, does removing these make a difference. It's a different car! It's softer and more planted under braking.

So, I realized I had two issues which I though were connected but they weren't. The first was the fact that the steering wheel is tracking the road when I tapped the brake and the road was bumpy. The other was the car twitching when I would press the brakes if I were over a certain speed and if the road was bumpy.

Removing these from the car didn't do anything for the first issue but it completely removed the second. This makes sense to me because these limit front strut's range of motion. At certain speed and when braking, the front gets loaded and front struts basically become ineffective. Every bump in the road then sends the car flying and it felt like the car was trying to kill me.

The videos demonstrate the first issue and I concede that this is normal wide grippy tires behavior. If not, I don't really care about it.

Thanks everyone for helping with this!
