I’ve found a 2021 2.0 with the safety package the dealer is willing to let go for $43,500. I might bite if they go to $42,000. But I’m having a hard time buying the 2.0 vs the 3.0.
I am actually more interested in the 2.0. Just are not many out there in the 2 colors that i like to buy.

I have a dealer offering me $2216 off of msrp on a 2022 2.0 w the safety package. The dealer near my house refused to match this. They wanted msrp so I said ttyl. The other dealer 3 hours away offered $45,700 plus tax, title, $250 doc fee and refused to go any lower. I think I am gonna pony up and buy it after my 45k mile Mazdaspeed Miata sells on Friday.
That's the way to go. Trust me, you'll enjoy that 3 hour inaugural drive in the Supra anyway!

I tried 2 other dealers with the exact same car, NO moving off MSRP at all. They were miffed that I even asked, lol. I also found a used 2021 with 4k miles and they wanted almost $2K more than the brand new car new quote I was offered at $45200 ($500 vet rebate in there). They refused to budge on the used one also.

Looking forward to the 3 hour drive back on Monday!

Is a 3.0 New Under 50k possible? I can get a 2.0, but i really want the 3.0 because i dont think i would be happy down the road. Houston Area has bad deals right now, 55-58k for one.

Not very likely. Production is way down, and demand is way up. If you found just the right dealer, you might be able to get $50k for a base 3.0, but most 3.0 cars out there have the premium package, so you’re probably talking $52-53k at best for those right now.

I really hope the market stops being crazy this year, im in no rush to buy, i hope maybe by mid 2022, the prices are different. I was looking at a 2021 WRX STI and there are literally 0 available, dealer told me that cant even get one.

Yeah, STI production is done now. I just grabbed the last STI from our local dealer for my wife, $500 under invoice for that. I could drive it to another place right now and make a few grand. This market is broken.
The current conditions are likely to persist well into 2022, unfortunately. Even most of the manufacturers are admitting that already.

The $55k-$57k MSRPs are the new norm right now. Anything under that is a good deal. The sub $50K deals are a thing of the past.

Selling prices will continue to increase next year as the weather gets nicer and more people are looking to buy.

The local dealers around me are all asking for $5000 above MSRP for 3.0 premiums. I stopped by to check out a A91-CF edition they had out of curiosity, they're asking $70,000 for it lol.

Not a good time to buy a new car. Hearing it might only get worse in the next year or 2.

Yup, I looked all over the tri-state and New England area. Every dealer that had stock or incoming stock, which wasn't many, wanted at least $3-5k over MSRP.

I ended up purchasing a used one that I found in Ohio.

all this talk about trying to buy one for MSRP really makes me glad I bought mine when I did, and have had 12,000 happy miles with mine, and hopefully many more. this is a deal sheet I found, but not my final deal, ended getting another $1,000 off for a few reasons. Man I got lucky, granted the dealer sucks and when I needed help for various reasons after delivery they went ghost... do not recommend, whole place is a joke.
