Does anybody know if the brake pads are the same and interchangeable with the Z4 M40i?

I have a 2021 Supra 3.0 premium, and FCP euro has the Z4 brake pads available. Does this mean I can just buy those and they’ll be the same as buying the stock pads from Toyota? When I search that part number, aftermarket pad’s pages seem to list it as replacing both Supra pads’ part number and the Z4 pad I linked. So it seems like it should be the same, but maybe the compound is different.

At this point, I agree with everything you said.

FYI FCP Euro seems to have the rear brake pads too.

Link: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-brake-pad-set-genuine-bmw-34206888835
BMW part number: 34206888835

I googled the BMW part number with the keyword "Supra" added. I came across an eBay listing that noted:
"Compatible with the following OEM references

BMW 34206888835
TOYOTA 04466WAA03"

https://www.ebay.com/itm/233960707532

Googling that Toyota part number lead me to US-based Toyota parts sites that show it as being the rear brake pads that fit a 2021 Toyota Supra 3.0 Premium
https://parts.toyota.com/p/Toyota__/Disc-Brake-Pad-Set-Rear/78450728/04466WAA03.html

I also spotted front and rear brake pad sensors that are likely compatible, when searching the parts for 2020 BMW Z4 M40i on FCP Euro

Edit: I bought spare OE Supra brake pads off my friend who also has a 2021 model. His brake pads were friction code GG front, and GF rear. Something is different about the car in the YouTube video. I also compared pad shape against the Z4 pads, that part I linked appears to be the exact same shape. Not sure about thickness when new since the stock pads I bought were used, but I assume it's the same.

TL;DR confirmed same friction code and pad shape for front pads:
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-brake-pad-set-genuine-bmw-34116888457

Rear Rotors
Some more searching leads me to believe these are the rear (left or right, seems to be no specific position) rotors. Googling the part number returned an eBay result that listed both BMW and Toyota part numbers for rear rotors. They were selling stock rear rotors off a totaled Supra:
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-brake-disc-genuine-bmw-34216860925

That same Toyota part number when looked up on the Toyota parts site shows as fitting a 2021 Supra 3.0 Premium as well. (42431WAA01)

Front Rotors
These appear to be part numbers for front left and right rotors - they are specific parts per side

Sharing something I learned.. was watching a brake pad change DIY and somebody's video of a 2020 Supra showed friction code of "FF" on the stock front pads, and "GF" for the stock rear pads.

The Z4 pads I ordered (https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-brake-pad-set-genuine-bmw-34116888457) have a code of GG, which are higher friction than the stock Supra pads.

I used this page to understand the codes: https://idpartsblog.com/2019/04/11/what-do-brake-pad-friction-ratings-mean/

Well if you can confirm the parts for z4 and Supra are the same, it would be worthwhile to buy from FCP Euro as they have lifetime replacement guarantee. Great if you track the car

Installed the Z4 front brake pads I linked. It fits and works

The rear brake pads for Z4 come with what seems to be caliper torque-to-yield bolts. I don’t believe aftermarket pads include that

Are you tracking the car? Just curious why you need the pads so quickly? Are the pads for the z4 quiet, even with the different friction code?

This is really good information you provided, I was looking this information up not long ago.

yes, I have a decently setup M3 as my track car and sometimes drive my Supra instead for fun. Handling is very different so I end up overdriving my stock supra. I don’t think the stock brake pads do well, but I figured I’d try them out.

The z4 pads appear to be no difference, at least for 2021 model year cars. Same brake feel and just as quiet. Same friction codes- GG front and GF rear.

Did you find the rears?

@Cptnslo yes. I believe I have. I compared the Z4 rears I got with spare rear pads I got from my friend’s 2021 Supra. They appear to be the same shape. The BMW includes the torque-to-yield bolts for the rear caliper and also black clips. Fancy.

Haven’t installed these yet so not 100% sure but the parts when compared seem to be the same!

That would be awesome if they work, definitely will keep checking this thread to see what you find out! I just posted a thread about some rear brake pad issues I ran into which is why I asked.

Great question! ☝
You track a bunch- cut the sensor heads off and wire together and just tiny zip tie out of the way.

Trust me nothing is worse than a brake sensor going off and going into limp the first session of the day... ask me how i know ;)

I am sure you are good about checking pads yourself. The more idiot stuff I can unwire i do...
