You’re welcome.Saving myself money and learning something new, fixing something I own, not having to rely on other people to do the work for me. Again thanks for the negativity, continue being an asshole in life. Got my answer and I was going about it correctly. Just needed to know the hint there was a 5mm hex bolt on the other side to help with the stripped one.
This is the internet. Everyone pays….Let's just try to help a forum member out if we can with the technical side of the repair or request.
Yeah my volkswagen door handle broke and that was a nightmare replacing it, but finally figured out a trick after the passenger side broke. Fucking corrados. If you run into any other issues, feel free to DM me. BMW and VW really like to complicate their doors for some reason. Germans…
Not sure how America does it but stuff like this goes under comprehensive claim. Long as you don't file "theft" or some higher pedigree claim, it won't take a hit on premiums at all.Maybe I’m in the minority too, but I think similarly like OP and would not file an insurance claim. Only difference is I wouldn’t DIY this because it’s not to my abilities to fix in a reasonable amount of time, but I would have paid out of pocket for a shop to fix it. Insurance claims aren’t freebies, they’ll eventually collect back those claims on premiums and then some. In this case, you’d only submit an insurance claim if you don’t have the cash or don’t want to pay the full $ amount now.
Those give me ptsd. Along with the (and this is not exaggeration) 110 torx screws holding on the front and rear bumpers of a VW beetle. I’d rather give the service advisor a handy, than to have him park that shit in my bay.Yeah my volkswagen door handle broke and that was a nightmare replacing it, but finally figured out a trick after the passenger side broke. Fucking corrados.
Yes.Do you have the actual verbiage or language in your policy that says so?
Yeah, accidents will. Things like fire/theft/a random tire flying/huge pot hole wrecking your suspension. Please share it, that sounds awesome. Even for not at fault accidents, it will have an effect on our insurance premiums. But of course those need to be claimed or else we’d be shit out of luck trying to get money in a small court claim or something.
This might help, given that it’s about the door.As the title says. My supra was recently broken into (stole nothing, just broke the window and slashed all my tires) but I've tried to replace the passenger window myself and am now stuck at trying to get the glass out of the window regulators. I have tried to use hex bits to remove the screw on the outside of the regulator but they do not budge and have actually broken 2 bits and started to strip the screws out. I dont see any other way to remove the glass from the regulator in order to slide the new glass in place. Please help me, its been months with my car sitting without a window because i've all but given up on replacing it.
