Yeah, but probably at twice the cost. If not close to it.
The biggest downfall will be the dealer's ADM and the flippers. The last GT4 was competitively priced at 84K MSRP with this one rumored to be around 90K. Not bad for additional tweaks, an updated engine and Porsche keep it true to the sport with a 6 speed manual.

This thing is seriously quick. Some people are selling the old one for over MSRP. I've ridden in a couple and they're amazing but lordy that suspension. I can't imagine driving that on anything but perfect roads or tracks.

So Porsche just happened to drop some news with the return of the 4.0L NA Flat-6 in the new GT4!...414 HP, 309 lb-ft, 188 mph top speed 8,000-RPM redline, 4.2 0-60, and 6-spd manual only!
Previous 981 GT4 lapped the Nurburgring in 7:40...chief engineer guarantees at least a 10-second improvement with the 982 GT4.

"6-spd manual only" Checkmate Toyota! Wake the f**k up!
I hope they add it in because it's getting ridiculous now with all the excuses. Now as for the GRMN Supra, I have a gut feeling it's going to spank this Porsche. The normal GR Supra is basically as fast as the 981 GT4 from Tada-san's claims. I love both cars though. And I want them.

According to C&D.

https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-ca...gt4-boxster-spyder-reveal-photos-specs-price/

Pricing starts at $97,550 for the Boxster Spyder and $100,450 for the Cayman GT4 including a $1250 destination fee. That's around $15,000 more than each of their predecessors, but both are still far cheaper than the nearly $145,000 911 GT3.

You said it best, "excuses" and "claims". One was just been announced while the other one is still making excuses and claiming. Shoot, it won't even be here for a couple more years. :nono: The GR Supra was on par with the 4 cyl Cayman. The GT4 mid engine handling will have the advantage over the FR Supra.

With all these changes, the new 718 Cayman GT4 is 10 seconds quicker around the NĆ¼rburgring Nordschleife than its predecessor. That means it should run a 7:30 around the 13-mile circuit, which is about five seconds off a new 911 Carrera S

Apparently, the Japanese automaker believes that the Supra could turn in a lap time of 7:40, even if it ends up running into its speed limiter on the trackā€™s long straight

  • Zero to 60 mph: 3.9, 4.0, 4.1 secondsā€”Supra, M2, Cayman.
  • Quarter mile: 12.4 seconds at 114.7 mph, 12.5 seconds at 111.2 mph, 12.6 seconds at 110.3 mphā€”M2, Supra, Cayman.
  • Skidpad: 1.01 g, 1.01 g, 1.03 gā€”Supra, M2, Cayman.
  • Figure eight: 24.0 seconds at 0.83 g, 24.0 second at 0.81 g, 24.1 seconds at 0.82 gā€”Supra, Cayman, M2.

100,450 for the GT4. Not bad but I can already smell the sharks.

I mean... $95k-$100k for a 3200lb car that's slower to 60mph than the $50k Supra (and the Cayman/Boxster GTS). This car looks great but are we glossing over these very important figures because it has a manual transmission and a nur laptime 90% of people will never achieve? I get that there are a lot of suspension upgrades etc but.. I would get a used Cayman GT4 / Boxster Spyder over this.

Yea no thanks. I imagine the speculation will be insane as many will project the second hand market to be like the 981, which I don't doubt.

I like the Supra, but appreciate it for what it is... A joint effort and a damn good one from what I'm reading. The uber Cayman is for those likely in a different tax bracket.

Not to mention mid engine it's a way different car let's not throw shade at Porsche.
