Not sure if I’m tracking the right boat or not but it looks like it will reach Fremantle on March 6.

So I ordered some time in September 2022, and only got a 'confirmation of production' about a week ago after requesting an update.

A few days later I get an email saying that my order is now on a ship - I ask for some further clarity, then get an email 10 mins later saying it was a mistake, and that my car is definitely not on a ship...

Soz to bump the thread with a non-event, but I hope the dealer doesn't fck up anything else down the line :/

Ya I was getting the similar exp with my order, ordered mine in May and sales person says it will arrive in Nov, got the confirm production email in Sep so after I confirm with sales man again in Oct, I sold my evo X and riding my bike till now :D taking trains while the road is wet, ETA has been pushed for too many times that I lost my insterest even call them to check. it was my first new car buying exp but I learned you should never believe any word your sales send/talk to you till you saw the car physically.

Well good side of the coin is with 5k AUD saving for new car every month I got enough money to buy a 2nd hand S58 machine now and maybe when the car is here I can afford a 718 XD.

Hi everyone, sounds like there are more cars getting close for some of you guys, exciting as!
Here are a few more pics of mine. Phil, I have included one showing the front number plate, I'm a bit paranoid about posting in social media so I have blurred it (I think)
Does anyone know if that spot is problematic and will block airflow to brakes, radiator or something? Toyota themselves put it there but I'm not sure if it should be there. It definitely looks better than that ridiculous bracket they screw to the bumper that is way too wide for our plates.

Thanks for that Snakes70. I haven't looked at your front plate location in details as I haven't got my car yet but I don't think the location will be an issue for a road car. Probably not ideal for track days but it's where I plan to locate mine. I see there are a few plate mounts available that will work in that location. What did you use?

I'd move it, I made my own mount using the OEM tow hook on the passenger side. I bought a dodgy Ebay alloy tow hook mount and made it from that.

They cable tied it to the black plastic lattice stuff Phil.
I will do the odd trackday but it wont be a regular thing.
I am back there Sat week for a one month inspection so I will definitely bring it up with them and make sure it is a safe spot to have it and I'll get them to confirm it in an email.
I cant believe the hideous bracket that comes with it, I'm glad my dealer didnt just automatically put that on. He gave it to me tho and I have already thrown it away.
Looks really good where it is now i think, will see what they say.

Check out the two below posts regarding plates mounted in the centre mesh area:

3d printed brackets, they have threaded holes bit the tape is so strong they weren't required.

Might relocate to the side if any cooling issues.

I did tests with a portion of the front centre section blocked by a small 3 digit license plate and the results on the circuit were very noticeable.

Oil temps, transmission temps, intake temps nd coolant temps were all substantially worse with the plate partially obscuring the centre intake ducts.

(1) is with plate
(2) is without plate

You can see my plate mount in a few of the last pics here. Uses the OEM tow hook spot.

Ok cool thanks for the input guys.
I think maybe the logical thing to do is to just take the front plate off when I do track days. I'll take some cable ties with me and put it back on when I drive home.

Hmmm I'll look into that one LFMAO, leaves more of the vent clear by the look of it but we have big plates, it will still block a big part of it I'd say.
I don't even have a drill though so not sure if I would be able to get anyone to install it for me, they wont want to drill holes in the front splitter.

I'm opting for the sto-n-sho. Pricey, but I think it's the best option.
My only concern with this one is the reduction in front splitter ground clearance. One misjudgment and the front splitter is not just scraped but possibly ripped apart.
