It looks like most are starting to get good news as things get closer which is great to hear! I spoke to my dealer today and its another mixed bag.

I have a VIN number (even though it doesn't seem to register on any trackers) and also a delivery date which is towards the end of May! I also went on another test drive and with a better seating position quite enjoyed it. Also, the stereo is much better than I was lead to expect and the HUD is quite visible with polarized glasses - it's a little duller but being unable to see it is a massive exaggeration.

The bad news however, was that the dealer said that they do not believe they can deliver the car without that godawful black numberplate mount on the front of it. I explained that this was a deal breaker and that I was guaranteed my car would come unmolested 10 months ago.. but even after they made some calls, I didn't get a positive result on this.

The way they explained it was that apparently since sometime in 2023, Toyota Australia is handling all the cars as they come into port and physically attaching this number plate holder before it gets to dealerships.

If this is true, and you are like me and wanting to mount your plate in another way, you are pretty much fucked. I have called Toyota Australia and am going to go to war over this. If anyone has different information - or has had cars delivered without this plate after February of this year - please PM me or otherwise post it here so I can rack up some evidence.

I really don't want to pay to have to get the whole front end patched and repainted!

What the left hand gives, the right takes away.

100% - there is a post somewhere here where I confirmed - sport mode DOES change the relationship between pedal and throttle to make the car feel more responsive.
I experimented with this a little today on my test drive. I'm not sure about the throttle response but putting Engine out of sport mode (individual) made the car feel like it was completely in non-sport mode. I noticed that when I revved the engine with Engine in sport mode, the whole car rocked as I revved; when Engine was set to comfort, it just made noise. ?‍♂

Hey lmfao.

Mines on the ship to dealer ETA of May 26.

I'll have to follow this up with my dealership. I've actually been dealing with their delivery head rather than the dealer I placed the order with.

I have the same request and when I took there manual demo for a drive a fortnight ago he reiterated no front plate fitted.

The only request he had was that I bring my mounting kit and have the number plate fitted when I leave the dealership.

Keep me updated if you hear anything more.

Do you know what ship? Surely our cars are on the same ship lol. Any chance you can PM me contact details on who you've been speaking with? Just want to try and get my dealer to play ball.

Nah I don't know the ship. He didn't tell and I didn't ask. Otherwise I'll just be tracking it constantly.

I'll email him tomorrow to confirm and forward it on to you.

edit: Misread the change in 2023 part. I hope that ain't the case.... But given they go from 3rd party dock yard, to car courier, to dealer... I'm optimistic it won't be molested :)

I can 100% confirm that the car is delivered WITHOUT the front plate attached, it's done at the dealer.

This is how mine was delivered - unwashed, unwrapped, untouched. I didn't even want them to wash it, as it would end up scratched, as most people can't wash a car to save their life.

If a rural Vic dealer can do this, and I was their first Supra sale - then your dealer can do it too.

From factory, individual is all configured to "normal" - you have to go in and change each setting individual to "sport"

Yup. Did that. ?

I thought so too.. My dealer is saying these parts are no longer fitted by dealers themselves but are fitted before it gets to them. I hope you are right but as they have had two MY23 cars delivered that I know of, I'm inclined to believe them.

I'm making inquiries. When your car is delivered, let us know how you go.

I hope so. My passenger's seat seemed to be much lower but I'm sure it will work out. Just annoying.
Unfortunately that doesn’t change. I’m tall and have my seat at the lowest possible setting and the driver’s seat is quite high imo. I wish it went lower, but it’s not a deal breaker.

Hey lmfao

First post

I was intending to place an order on a Yellow Supra in the GT spec just last weekend but ended up ordering a red one.
So the shed some light on what I heard about the yellow ones from the sales is this:
-Yellow was the least popular colour and it’s discontinued
-They’re introducing Solaris Orange ( the paint colour they had for the GR86 10year edition)
so congrats to you for your yellow MT, I’m proper jealous of it!

Also hi to everyone else, I’ll be joining this waiting hell with an estimated 18months wait haha.
Maybe in 18 months there’ll be an Isle of Man green Supra available and you’ll be the luckiest of all?

This is going to sound stupid but I sat in a different car the next day and I swear it went much lower. So much so that I think the demo I was in may have had an issue. Probably placebo. Who knows.

The seats are basically 1000 way adjustable so once you dial it in, I’m sure you’ll find a happy place.

Yeah, you're right.

I'm getting them to chase numberplate now.

Thanks for the heads up mate, I've been very vocal about not destroying my front bar... Given my dealer already did that on my first one during a routine service.
