I'm going to lose my shit if it comes with holes in the bumper to be honest. The more I think about it, the more I want to just defect the car and buy something else, if anything, on general principle.

I have a daily so I'm not desperate for a car and the request isn't exactly unusual or difficult.
I 100% agree with you. Simple request and if I took personal measures with the dealership to prevent it, and they still did it to my car? I’d cuss them out and tell them they are all incompetent and walk away.

Yeah.. Last time I called they said they were still "looking into it" so I told the head of sales that I'll just defect the vehicle and head on down to BMW. It's a long time to wait for nothing but it's my money and fucked if I'm paying for something I have to fix before I start.

Vehicle finally turned up at the dealership yesterday arvo. And am on track to picking it up this Saturday apparently. I can’t believe I’m saying this! Let’s see what happens. Fingers crossed. Will keep you all posted.

Saturday is very optimistic.
My dealership said the pre-delivery stuff takes about a week while they wait for codes from BMW.

Unless you went through the Toyota pre-delivery centre I guess

So number plate gate saga continues..

The stock controller at my dealer tells me that Toyota is refusing to allow the car to get to me without the plate mount drilled in - He says that Toyota claims it's impossible and all cars delivered without it must have been repaired and resprayed prior to delivery.

Sounds like bullshit to me. So.. what I need is evidence that this isn't the case and to do that the stock controller has asked to see if I can get stock numbers of any cars believed to have been delivered without the plate mount.

If anyone has a stock number of a car that was delivered sans plate mount (and is willing to share it with me), please PM me so that we can pass this information back to convince Toyota Australia. If we make enough noise, at the very least it should make this process easier for those that follow.

Please help!

This is such a bullshit purchasing experience! ☹

Ffs lmfao, what a waste of your time.
I have shared pics of my car that was delivered without the bracket, feel free to pass them on if it helps.
What is the stock number? Will that be noted on the paperwork somewhere?
If so I'll have a look when I get home tonight and let you know.

Just received these pics from my dealer. It’s at the dealership with no plate frames! However I don’t have any other plate frames to give so I’ll have to suffer with whatever the dealer decides to do.
All the best everyone! I’m definitely down to have a bit of supra cruising club hahaha. I’m in New South Wales for those that are wondering.

Cars delivered via the new Pre-Devliery centre, or cars in general, since 2019 release?

The other option is to find or order one through an interstate dealer and have it shipped. That'd be cheaper and better than repairing the front.

Didn't someone say there are some 2023 cars in Melbourne dealers without front plates? Surely we could ask them?
