Looking for some advice from Brisbane locals if possible please. It's looking like late this month or early next month for my car to be delivered in Brisbane. The plan is to get full PPF, ceramic, window tint and some badge work done before the car heads back North. I've been looking at Gangsta Wraps, who use Suntek, and Exclusive Wraps, who use Xpel. Does anyone local to Brisbane have any experience, feedback, or advice on either of them? Or alternative suggestions?

Two guys in the FB group are doing theirs at Exclusive Wraps.

Mine is at SD Wraps & Protection for Suntek Reaction full body PPF. They are a smaller shop, but they have done a few Supras in the past (including another brand new MY 2023 recently) and look to have decent clientele.

A few Supras have gone to Solar Style - I was going to go with them, but ultimately didn't. They had a long lull in their social media presence, but have suddenly gone hard and are posting every day - they seem very busy.

Looking forward to the next videos especially the dash cam install.
I actually just uploaded it last night :D I hope it isn't confusing as fuck though... This video stuff is hard lol.

I'm one of those guys. I'm a huge Exclusive Wraps fan. One of the owners is a close friend of mine, but he owned the business before we became friends. He's a huge car enthusiast and Exclusive actually deal directly with Brisbane Lambo, Ferrari and Porsche because their work is such a high standard.

I have actually done a video with them with what their business is about and what happens to your car while it's there. But I won't have time to put it together for a while.

I'm using: Standout Motorsports Australia - Vehicle Customisation
I had a friend who had their car wrapped with these guys and I liked the results. They recently did the cermaic coat on my Audi and it was well priced, and I was pretty happy with it. I ended up going with a track pack with these guys and they won't use pre-cut so I can avoid the issue with the edges. To be honest this is the 1st PPF I have done, and the reviews are mixed. The track pack seemed like a good compromise cost wise.

These guys are tinting for me as well and taking the back Toyota badge off. They offered to attend the dealership when the car is on the tow truck tray and wrap it to protect it.
I also got custom plate holders: QLD PPQ Flexi Number Plate Brackets — Venom Automotive as well as the Sto and Sho front mount bracket. This way I can avoid drilling into the acrylic plate. These guys are fitting this as well as part of the job.

My car is on the Traviata and has been floating between Tassie and Melbourne since the 2nd..I wish they had never given me the name of the dam boat as I get a fresh serving of frustration every day :).

Haha, I feel your pain. I watched mine like a hawk. It took mine 28 days once it arrived at Melbourne, to be able to dock there. I got my car 2 weeks ago (Brisbane). So it was pretty recent that huge wait. I saw averages for Melbourne was 3-4 weeks waiting for a spot to dock.

They keep your hopes up all the time by only extending the docking dates a little bit... lol

Well I ordere mine at the beginning of January and emaild the dealer yesterdabout delivery. No word at all about anything yet. I'm wondering if I'll be getting a 2024 model now. The factories usually start the next years production model after the August holidays in Europe. Don't know and nobody's talking.
The new normal, a bespoke mass produced production car, an open ended wait, and zero coms of any sort and when they do update you it's a month after the fact! It will never go back to the way it was now. The manufacturers and dealers have us just where they want us. A mass produced car built to order like a bespoke car, no local inventories and you pat RRP and if your silly enough even well over. Got us by the balls. Don't like that. Might just cancel mine.

Ah man. That does suck. I think it's been over a month since the MY24 has been in production now - so that would put you in the my24 boat. It looks like Toyota dealerships are about a month behind in getting the progress update.

Jan order, so I'd assume August build. So really your pretty much still on track for a regular timefrane. Maybe a month behind (fingers crossed its built this month, thus you find that out next month). Then it's a mammoth wait for that boat ride... but at least you know it exists at that point.

It is worth the pain and exhaustion Phil. I hope you stick it out mate.

Well the factories in Europe normally close for holidays in August and generally tool up for the new model in that time ready for the re start of production in September. Thats my experience. Don't know for sure now.

I ordered mine when it was released, I think was April or May 2022. Received in August 2023.

This. If we keep accepting this business practice, they'll keep doing it. And since they're the only game in town, we are, as you succinctly put it, "by the balls." And never mind paying over RRP.. I was annoyed that I didn't get a discount off RRP.. especially after waiting nearly 12 months! ?

Seriously? I guess they didn't start Building manuals until September 2022 if the manual was a 2023 option? So you waited 11-12 months after production started.
The Supra is the 3rd new car I've ordered in the last year. The Kia was supposed to be an 8 month wait and it was delivered in 6. The Mazda was supposed to be a 6 month wait and it was delivered in 5. Both Kia and Mazda kept me fully informed all along the way and came in ahead of their honest delivery prediction. Toyota quoted 6-9 months when I ordered. I looked at a Tiguan R and was told it was an 18 month wait and the dealer wanted $6000 on top of RRP. Passed on the VW obviously. Previously I've waited 12 months for my Focus RS Mk3 so I'm no newbie to waiting. Fords coms was great, VIN, Production date, shipping and ship name. Couldn't have been better quite frankly. I emailed Toyota Australia a month or so back enquiring and they said they didn't have access to projected build information and talk to the dealer. So the company that has it's name on the car and pays for it's production knows less than the retailer? Yea right Toyota. I'm wondering if someone in the BMW plant just decides at the beginning of each day which countries cars he's going to program for production today, lol. Sound like it might just be the way it's done.

Well yeah that has been my experience with them adding 2 days each time. It was actually in the waters outside Melbourne since the 2/09! 18 days to make port..but its finally there!!

So 28 days from here? They dont put it on rail right so it could be another few weeks trekking up the coast just sitting outside Fishermans Island (Brisbane port)? It feels close now. I saw a red one in the wild near where I live and I followed it for a while..I'm sure there are laws against this but you know...
