the 2.0's are pretty popular in Japan. And people are now seeing the potential of the B48. Bailey Woods won Track Mod class Grid Life Laguna with a B48 swapped E36 M3.
Curious to see how a dedicated track 2.0 with a built B48 would do around a circuit. Shedding ~220 lbs right over the nose is pretty significant. Could realistically get it close to 2,800lbs if you gut the interior, run carbon fiber body parts, lexan glass, titanium pipe, battery, ect...
Cost is left out of this equation though.

Right, this is the actual logic. The B48 is hitting the 500HP range with significantly less weight. Many race/track Supra's are keeping it at the 550-600hp range anyways on the B58 to keep the stock transmission or axles happy.
