When you say - "The only way they could make it better would be to make it out of stainless rather than titanium."

Can you elaborate? Asking because the weight savings of the Titan kit is one of the reasons I am eyeballing it. Handling, acceleration, gas consumption should all be better with the titanium exhaust.
Probably sound and durability. Shedding weight is always good, but when it’s 20-40 lbs from the lowest point of the vehicle it doesn’t make a huge difference.

ductility - titanium can withstand much less deformation before it completely ruptures

durability - most titanium tubing is thinner than SUS due to cost

repairability - very few shops can fix titanium if it gets dented. this means adding something like an extra resonator is out of the question

No doubt it’s the cooler version of Joe. But simple Joe just wins out sometimes for a street car.

i didn't use a spacer for the midpipe since the fitment was fine. BUT.. sometimes i have some wild cabin noises around low rpms, until the car is truly warmed up.

could me not using a spacer be a factor?

exhaust is connected to MAD's fat boy downpipe

Yall think one of these resonators would fit if welded inline with this exhaust?
the best spot with the space to do so is probably where the front pipe joins the mid pipe. But then you might lose a clamp location. Interested to find out if it helps though.

Heck, i would even try to find a titanium offset oval muffler if you can. i've got some long drives to trackdays (longest one is 7 hr) and the quieter the better...

Does opening and closing the valve make a difference? If so, then it's probably just cold start drone and nothing is rubbing. If its always vibrating when cold, regardless of valve, then you know something is rubbing.

Either way, it might be worth jacking it up and taking a look. It's possible that something wasn't clamped down tight enough and a connection is starting to slip. happened to me, I was scared about crushing the pipe the first time and didn't crank it down hard enough

@i3igpete when you say it didn’t come with hardware, does that mean the previous owner didn’t give it to you, or it wasn’t shipped to the owner? This is my biggest concern on buying this right now.

the previous owner sent everything he had, and titan confirmed what he had was the full kit.

that being said, its an alibaba exhaust, so it's possible the person at titan didnt know what exactly was missing either.

3 track days and a cool annealing (tempering? it's been awhile...) pattern emerges. you can see the EGT drop after passing through the muffler.

The plastic just above the tips is melted on both sides. The gap is still fairly even on both sides, so i dont think it's shifted at all. Just hot.
