I have a 2021 Supra with a downpipe and BM3 Stage 2 tune. I will be using the stock rims. The stock tires are not holding traction. I don't daily drive the car, mostly spirited driving when the weather is nice. I live in Upstate NY. What tires should I get?

Thanks for your help

To the OP.

Get some nice 200tw tires, and if you enjoy handling and not living in marshmallow land, for the love of everything in the universe, do not put 295 wide tires on a 19x10 wheel. A052's in 295 on a 10" wide wheel will feel like absolute crap. Might as well just duct tape feather pillows to your wheels.

Put a proper width tire on them. 275.

Good tires for spirited back road driving while turning your steering wheel:

A052

No rubbing or handling issues with 295 rear tire on stock suspension?
What size front tire?

Thanks

I thought you might like the 295 so that's why I include that size in my recommendations. Looks awesome but as someone pointed out, it is not the optimum size on the stock 10 inch wheels. You need a 11 to get the best traction and feel out of a 295 A052 or 285 RE71RS. I only run 275 square on 10.5 front and 11 rear and the handling is sublime.

295 will not rub on stock suspension and stock ride height. The issue then would be now you have so much more grip from these super tires that you will experience a lot more bodyroll when driving hard. Recommend getting wider wheels (9.5 front and 10.5 rear as a minimum) and if you can't spend the money on a set of coilovers, at least get a set of springs

Are they drag radials? How's the cornering?
they are drag radials and i was concerned it might not corner well but i was very wrong... the car corners on rails it actually eliminated almost all of the oversteer from my car.

i'm running 255/35/19 pilot sport 4s / 285/35/19 nitto nt555rii and the car is extremely balanced now, i've had to adjust my brain to how hard and early i can get into the gas coming out of corners. even out of low speed tight bends you can just hammer the gas in 2nd gear and be launched out of it.

If you like turning your steering wheel, don’t get those.
honestly man on the street the nitto nt555rii will easily out perform most "normal" 300ish treadwear UHP summer tires *on the rear axle*

ive had

-michelin super sport
-michelin pilot sport 4 s (x2)

the nitto's manage the rear end of the car better than both around corners.
