Did Toyota sell twice as many MK5 vs MK4? Also the MK5 had a longer run too.
11,800 LHD MKIVs existed in the USDM market, but 31,700 RHD were produced for rest of world. There was another 1,700 LHD for Europe as well. So around 45k MKIV Supras were made. The Mkiv was produced to 1993-2001 everywhere else but America (1993.5-1998)

Out of those ~12k MKIV in the USA, ~7500 were Twin Turbo (4500 6spd, 3000 auto)

For USA, 2k of the ~12k were hardtops, 10k were targa sport roof, but the opposite for RHD. 29k were hardtops and 2k were sport roofs

So Toyota sold ~35k MKVs to the 45k MkIVs worldwide. But in the USA it’s like 30k MKVs to 12k MKIVs

However I personally speculate in the USA it’s almost exactly identical for manuals. 4500 to 4500. Based on 40% take rate for MT from 23-26 production numbers

Thanks for the break down.

I wish more people bought the A90 Supra. Imagine if it matched C8 levels of adoption, the aftermarket and the Supra car scene would be even more vibrant. People will miss the Supra once it is gone.

The last estimate in the first post of this thread literally shows that the MKV Supra has sold over 30,000 units in the US alone. 😅
From what I can find the worldwide total was ~29k end of 2024. So it’s probably closer to ~35k total worldwide. 30k being USA. I was going off some 2024 numbers I realized for the ~28k USA and ~30k worldwide. I updated my post to match better.

I think a miserly 5k for the rest of the world is a pretty low estimate though. Australia on its own will end up with around 1500 at last count. 🤷‍♂️

While I'm not advocating its accuracy, ChatGPT suggests 43,000 units total. I still think is low. I would suggest it's closer to 45-50k units total.

Until about 12 months ago, there were no supras sitting on lots. They were being sold as fast as they were allocated. Buyers like me had to resort to sketchy excel spreadsheets with secret API calls. We will never know the true demand due to their stupid allocation policy.
