That sucks man…. Ask the guys at Corsa in Miami. They do great with BMWs.

Or get a Garmin Catalyst ?

@razorlab Thanks again for the great post and all the help. The information was extremely useful even though I have a G80. Majority of stuff worked without any tweaks or changes. One question I did have is from your testing what is the realistic number of parameters you have been able to log without issue from the enhanced OBD list? Also I sent you a PM a little bit ago on a couple other questions.

Thanks again

Like five max maybe. I abandoned using the enhanced OBD items as they are SO SLOW over obd2 that they are basically useless.

Straight CAN connection you can log as many as you want and it won't slow things down like OBD2.

Good to know, I was starting to get everything sorted through on GitHub for the program I think you made to create a lua script to paste into RaceCapture. I will not go down that route anymore. Thanks for the advice!

I know it might sound like broken record about asking about the A2L/Damos file for the s58 but I would really like to ask you some questions about those files if possible. For what its worth I'm not trying to get ahold of those files for free.

I highly recommend looking at the Garmin Catalyst. It's actually what I have mounted in the middle below the oem center display in my videos. It's super straightforward to setup and comes with a video camera. Downside is no car data. Upside is it has decent video and does lap time data overlays. Here is an example from my car:

You can put a seat in without the car getting grumpy, you just get annoying lights. It's kind of ironic that if you mess up the ride height sensor, the car goes into limp mode but you can take out a safety device and airbag and the car is like "Jolly good sir, carry on!"
Do you know of, or can think of, a way to log the ride height sensors?

You can log it via enhanced if you have a logger that supports that. It's in the forth tab in my spreadsheet. ID #4436
The spreadsheet is not showing up anymore. Link seems to be broken 😞

Does this mean EOP can't be monitored at the same time as standard OBDII? OBDII channels have to be turned off on racecapture?

Good question. I can’t remember. I would have to look at old logs. I stopped using RaceCapture last year.

Curious to know why you stopped using it if you don't mind. What do you use instead?

I was using BM3 for logging before but the app is so bad now it's useless most of the time.

No particular reason other than I am always trying new things and also the simplicity of the Garmin Catalyst just works for me.

I agree on BM3, the mobile app is complete trash and basically only works if you make a virgin sacrifice and even then it might not work.

I got sick of it and moved to MHD last month and it's been rock solid. Works every time. Even certain things that the founder of BM3 told me I was having issues with because my 2020 DME is weird, like logging VANOS, which never worked with BM3, magically now works with MHD. Imagine that.

They always gave me the run around. The people operating their support tickets are morons, are probably IT dropouts, and I was using their support feature a lot because their app sucks ass so much.
