Got my PMU Club Racers over the weekend. Finally time to get off my ass and put them on along with front lcas.

Out of curiosity, what sort of lifespan should I expect from these? I won't be going full send until I get a bit of seat time so I'm hoping these will last me a bit.

I am on track day 7 or 8 with mine and they still have a good amount of meat left on them. I am also not easy on the brakes at the track.

I called evasive to confirm stock on the club racers, I ordered a couple and there should be 2 sets of fronts left after my order I just placed. No rears.

One more question. My car is stock outside sway bars and some Rays 57CRs. I wanted to install some RT660s cause the stock SS are shot and figured I'd take the opportunity to do the brake pads cause they're feeling worn too. I was gonna just have the tire shop I go to do both but they don't recommend doing the pads cause of "pad slap". I asked what that means but no response yet. Any idea? Anything I should be concerned about when running Hawk DTC60 front/30 rear on the stock rotors and those tires? Assuming I have stock fluid and lines right now. And my rotors seem healthy to me.

Maybe they think the new pads will rattle around because they don't have the glue on them like OEM. That's nothing to be concerned of and changing them is an easy DIY. This is the first car I've changed brakes on myself and it wasn't difficult besides getting the OEM pads out due to the glue.

Those Hawk pads are fine (besides street driving when brakes are cold, terrible initial bite) except if it rains you need to get the brake dust ASAP and not let it sit. The dust will rust and glue itself to the wheels. I would really recommend changing out the fluid. If you happen to have only 30-40 mins between sessions because of bad scheduling there is a good chance you'll boil it if you are relatively decent at threshold braking.

You mean change out the stock fluid to like a DOT4 fluid? Not like flush it between sessions? I did threshold brake a fair amount. Idk if I'm great at it but I do it lol

Hawk DTC60/30 are great pads for track and town. Definitely more dust with increased stopping power but can squeal if you’re worried about that (in town). I’ve been mainly on that combo for 2 years & no issues. Lots of rain down here in SWFL as well. It sure beats changing the pads all the time imo. Off season, it’ll take forever to wear those suckers down. So no worry in that regard.

Just got my 1st club racers. Incredible price! If I get two weekends out of them I’ll be stoked. Heard tons of good things about them. If they stop as well as the p mu999s = icing on the cake ?

Our cars come with DOT4 fluid. But when you track, the fluid will become dirtier much quicker. Bleeding them more often will help get that firm pedal back. Then replace it at the beginning of each track season. Higher the wet temp, the more wiggle room you’ll have.

Have you had issues with the brake dust rusting on to the wheels cause of the rain?

Thanks for the info. That is actually a bit more than I expected.

Nosa. No issues. Perhaps colder weather and letting the car sit after rain? I drive my car at least once per week, live in the subtropics ? and she’s garaged. She sees plenty of water. Dynamic Friction Geospec rotors and any race pad have been fine.

I guess I accidentally ordered the Hawk HPS 5.0 instead of the DTC30 for the rear (no wonder they were cheaper loool). I know their characteristics are different so should I return them for the right set or would they pair fine with the DTC60s?

DTC30s would be better if you can exchange them.

The CSG pads are AWFUL about this. The most aggressive brake dust I've ever seen. I made the mistake of not cleaning my track wheels after my last event last Autumn and they're caked in a dirt/brake dust/iron amalgam that required HARD scrubbing to remove.

They still kick a$$ at the track though.
