So I'm tuned on ecutek. When my tuner did the tune it had an intake, p800, catless dp, and a exhaust.
Exhaust is too loud and I have decided to put the stock one back on while keeping the catless dp.
Is it safe to run the same tune or do I need a retune?

Thanks.

You can do whatever you want with the exhaust, tuned or untuned.

Should be fine. Possibly more back pressure but I doubt much.
In fluid dynamics, flow of a system is limited by the narrowest point. If his exhaust attached to the stock 3.15" restriction of almost any downpipe, then flow and backpressure is unchanged.

Stock exhaust isn’t completely 3.15 all the way through, if you look, there are crush bent parts…..

The downpipe exit is 3.15" and that determines the maximum flow for anything attached thereafter.

Interesting thread @KAREEMMK5. I’ve got a free breathing MX5 as well and it sounds great. But I’ve never heard an exhaust as loud as this AWE track exhaust with catless dp on this MK5 Supra 🙉. No tune as of yet but can’t wait to do some logs and send ‘em to Jessie. So opposite of you at this point. Not for sound but for full throttle tracking in some Vietcong style (FL) heat. I went with JB4 just because of my model year and Jessie’s reputation on this forum. I would definitely think it’d be worth it to retune anytime you make significant changes 🤷‍♂️. Just to run as smooth as possible for any kind of driving (and especially not get towed away on track - it’s embarrassing man 😂).
