Tuning a 2021 with locked ECU

Wait so the 21 are now tunable?

Early 2020 manufactured MY2021 Supras are tunable. The deciding factor is the ECU date of manufacture. If it’s before 06/01/2020 you’re one of the chosen ones. ??

Since it's coming up on a year, when should we assumed the > 7/21 ECUs are simply never going to be unlocked?

literally having this same issue but bootmod caught it. Crazy thing is ive hit up everyone from @Titan Motorsports @Kies Motorsports @AMSPerformance an 3 others about getting this thing unlocked an sadly not one single response. I know its Monday an you have stuff from the weekend but I mean a sale is a sale. So far @protuningfreaks says they do it for free (id imagine you have to have already purchased bootmod3 to get it for free) but more worried about sending to Canada then anything else because god forbid anything happen an im screwed with just a 3800lbs paperweight in storage. I hope the 20-4-20 is a date...if so then I hope all they did was just a reflash because bootmod did say I did need a bench unlock so I hope that means it. Never dealt with this when I worked at a Toyota dealer from 06-2016 so new rules I guess.

Just a waiting game now guys an man it really sucks that Toyota/BMW/Bosch did this dirty like this.

The 2021 ECM will be unlocked. Some of you guys need to have more patience. When the Bosch MG1 ECM was first issued in the Audi B9 S4/S5/RS5 platform in 2017/18, it took over two years for it to be cracked.

APR and Dinan are now offering tunes for the 2021 S4/S5/RS5 which has the same updated Bosch ECM that the 2021 Supras have. Clearly there are companies that have the coding to unlock the ECM...My theory is most likely they’re charging other tuners a TON of money for the coding rights and these 3rd party tuners don’t want to pay it.

I reached out to Dinan and APR a couple of days ago to get their take on the Supra tuning issue. While they couldn’t give me specifics, they did say the platform is definitely on their radar.
