Had a quick question for the folks who have owned and/or driver both the 3.0 and 2.0

I drove the 3.0 and noticed the turbo instantly kicks in and it sounds beautiful. Does the 2.0 have the same kick and turbo sound?

I'm in the market to buy and the turbo isn't a make it or break it for me but I have only been able to test drive the 3.0. No luck in finding a 2.0 to test drive within a 75 Mike radius unfortunately.

I've never driven a 3.0 but there is some lag in the 2.0. However when it spools up the car is quick. When the windows are down you can hear the turbo flutter. Hope that helps

I mean depending on the gear your in you can get turbo lag in any car if you’re stomping on it it in a higher gear vs downshifting and getting into the powerband.
unless there’s a significant size difference between the turbo I wouldn’t expect a large difference in the spooling characteristics

The smaller turbo spool is faster but does not make as much power or sound as nice as the bigger turbo.

With that being said, the 3.0 has almost no lag so I would not be too worried about that aspect.

Its comes down to budget and horsepower goals, if you are happy with the smaller engine power output, then get the 2.0. If you want more power and sound, get the 3.0
