Can we get back to arguing about things that matter like if single pass or dual pass matters for non car bowling racing
Let's take it to another level. Are interchillers worth the pain in the ass of installation and maintenance? I would buy one from FI Interchillers if it were more fully developed for the A90, but it looks like a 0-fucks given universal kit with little attention to detail.

Thinking about potentially installing the Wagner intake in the fall and have a few questions:

Have only heard/seen one person install the Wagner with a phenolic spacer, is it not worth it or is slight modification (file small notch) to the manifold not worth it ?
Can the fuel rail be installed if you're not looking to do PI until later down the road? If so, is tuning required after replacing the rail with no PI?

I haven't messed with them personally, but I only go to the drag strip a few times a year. That said, this is the first time Iā€˜ve heard of it. Everyone else seems to just use an ice box (but also has probably dumped the AC to start).

An interesting idea though. I’d wonder if Just having a sprayer of ice water would net you similar effects between rounds at the strip. One trick I’ve seen is taking those cans of freeze spray and using it on the cooler for the IC Hx Which likely gives a similar effect for considerably less.

EOS Manifolds are best buy.
No, Bestbuy is best buy.

What claims are YOU referencing to make it the undisputed "best buy" according to HetcMKV, arguably someone who doesn't interact with this community enough to be considered a source of truth.

People seem to be confusing the manifold, which works well and is really the only thing that will significantly help IATs, with the heat exchanger in the front cooling stack, which doesn’t do shiat.

Then there is that guy that lives in fantasy IAT land. Just ignore him.

I thought i told you to shu... *sigh* forget it.

yea, cool story bro

So then WHY IN THE FFF... *sigh* yea, go on.

OH WOW! Who knew people where doing this?! I'd love to install a large bulky ass box in the trunk where my groceries, luggage or golfclubs usually go. I'm sure those IAT's stay low all day and i don't have to constantly drain and fill it with ice

Why didn't i think of that? Sounds so much more practical than trying to lower the coolant temperature. Cool the metals from the outside with cans of freeze spray, pure genius. Next time i go to a road course, I'll bring 6 packs of freezer spray. 1 pack is probably needed for work or groceries.
Snark aside, are you talking about using an interchiller for road course, or for drag strip?

Epic response! ? Believe it or not, a Wagner (pronounced VĆ¢gner?) is still on my want list. I can see where Bryan is trying to keep all the extra fluff out. At one time, this was a manifold thread for the Supra ?
Mark, I consider you Gandalf the white

Congrats on making me chuckle.

In the few minutes I spent googling it prior to my initial post I saw it was primarily focused on drag racing. Posts, including on this forum, pointed toward it being used for that, and the few manufacturer sites all refer to the same. There was one that spoke about it being used for "circuit racing", but only as an after-thought. Given these items I assumed you were talking about drag racing, but I guess I shouldn't assume someone would do the same few minutes of searching first before posting.

Speaking of after thoughts, you must have forgotten modern cars turn off the AC compressor when at WOT. I would question your interest in a cooling system that doesn't work in a setting that "should" require WOT for a lot longer than on a drag strip.

Gotta love that ignore feature on a forum ?

The Supra GT4 uses a pre chiller system based off the AC unit. That is how it gets away with the OEM intake manifold. Def not like the janky ass aftermarket systems I have seen though.

Ice box systems are different as it’s using passive cooling from… an ice box. It would last… maybe a lap at a short road course.

Again… it’s usually the guys that are the first to get triggered and nasty that are the most ignorant.

I don't always trust manufacturer first party data, for obvious reasons. I got the Wagner manifold because of all the 3rd party data/testing/analysis i've seen that convinced me. That includes Bryan here, Kern417 & Grumpy Vet Garage on YouTube and some others.

interesting about the GT4 version. I had heard of other actual race cars using AC for cooling like that, but not to that level. It’d be cool to find out how much cooling is needed via that system or if it’s a mixture of a more normal heat exchanger with the ac cooler being for supplemental needs. I’ll have to go read and see.

I would never suggest an ice box beyond drag racing. I’ve seen them used in all sorts of sprint style events and beyond the annoyance of carrying coolers around, being gridded next to someone who has one and keeps dumping water on the ground is pretty bad.

They add an additional cooler in the charge pipe as well. Delete one side aux radiator and use it for the condenser. External engine oil cooler under the car before the back left side wheel, and diff cooler on the other side.
